Letter: Comparing Bush to his father

In Cragg Hines' Jan. 13 column, "Is Bush more like Truman or Roosevelt," the question that should be asked is: "Will the presidency of Bush No. 43 be more like that of Ronald Reagan or Bush No. 41?"
Like the Reagan presidency, the Bush-43 presidency has meant give to the haves and lip service for the have-nots (and a lot more have-nots at that) and massive federal deficits.
Like the Bush-41 presidency, it has meant a brilliant military victory (very popular) and a free-falling economy. Unlike Bush-41's, these are happening together.
Like the Bush-41 presidency, the Bush-43 presidency will probably be a one-termer because this nation will not stand for even three more years of massive federal deficits.
The only way our economy will turn around is if we go from a "trickle-down" to a "bubble-up" economic policy, and that will only come with a veto-proof Democratic Congress.
