GOVERNMENT: Closed: Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas, Clark County, state, courts, federal offices, federal courthouse.
SCHOOLS: Closed, no classes: Clark County School District, Community College of Southern Nevada, UNLV.
MAIL: Closed, no deliveries: U.S. Postal Service. Open, deliveries as usual: United Parcel Service.
NEWSPAPER: SUN offices open, afternoon editions published and delivered as usual.
TRANSIT: Downtown Transportation Center: Open. City trolleys: Holiday schedule (one less trolley in operation). Citizen Area Transit: Holiday schedule (fewer buses in operation on fixed routes).
LIBRARIES: Closed: Las Vegas-Clark County District, North Las Vegas District, Henderson District, Boulder City District.
GARBAGE: Republic Services pickups as usual.
MATRIMONY: Marriage License Bureau open 24 hours, starting 8 a.m. Friday, closing midnight Monday.
FINANCES: Closed: Brokerage firms, banks (some branches may be open because state law allows banks to open on holidays as long as transactions are posted to the next regular business day. Check your local branch.)
PARKING: City's parking-metered spaces free.
