Soon these January days will feel like winter again, forecasters said.
A dry cold front pushed through Southern Nevada Tuesday night, chilling temperatures 5 to 10 degrees lower than normal. The lower temperatures will stick around through Thursday, National Weather Service forecasters said.
Recent daytime temperatures into the 60s are unusual for January. The cooler weather is normal for Southern Nevada, meteorologists said.
Tuesday's high was 55 degrees.
Temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley dipped into the lower 30s as clouds cleared away with light northerly winds five to 15 miles per hour. Highs are expected in the lower 50s through the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
Another weather disturbance is expected late Thursday for a chance of snow showers north of the valley. No rain or snow is expected in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas skies are expected to be partly cloudy through the weekend.
