High court sets Binion appeals

The Nevada Supreme Court has scheduled arguments on the appeals of Ted Binion's two convicted murders for June.
No specific date has been set, but the high court informed lawyers in the case that all seven justices, instead of a three-member panel, will hear the arguments that month.
Sandy Murphy and Rick Tabish were found guilty May 19, 2000, of killing the wealthy former gaming executive following the most well-publicized murder trial in Las Vegas history. Both are serving more than 20 years in prison.
Prosecutors alleged that Murphy and Tabish pumped Binion with drugs and suffocated him at his 2408 Palomino Lane home on Sept. 17, 1998.
Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz, who has handled several high-profile appeals across the country, has received permission from the Supreme Court to argue Murphy's appeal.
