A Las Vegas justice of the peace Friday ruled there is enough evidence to try two Las Vegas men on multiple charges in connection with an alleged kidnapping and attempted murder involving two sisters.
District Judge Lee Gates is scheduled to arraign Pablo Guerrero, 23, and Eriberto "Eddie" Leon, 16, next week.
Prosecutors allege Guerrero kidnapped his estranged wife, Brenda Guerrero, 22, and ordered Leon to kill his sister-in-law, Sonia Gallardo, 17, on Nov. 6.
Gallardo survived being shot in the head and Brenda Guerrero escaped unharmed after California Highway Patrol troopers laid out spikes to stop the Guerrero's van on Interstate 15 near Victorville, Calif.
Guerrero allegedly told his wife he was taking her to Tijuana so she could learn to love him again, court records said.
Justice of the Peace James Bixler made his decision to bind the men over for trial after hearing the women testify during a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
