Help for historic buildings sought

The Commission for Cultural Affairs will conduct a series of meetings statewide next week to receive input on a new planning initiative for historic buildings.

Meetings will be held in Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite, Panaca, Goldfield, Tonopah and Hawthorne by ArtsMarket, Inc., a consulting firm gathering information on behalf of the commission that distributes $2 million annually for the rehabilitation of historic buildings.

Previous grants have helped save more than 50 buildings statewide, including the Clark County Heritage Museum in Henderson and the Junior League of Las Vegas' Morelli House.
