Four LV hotels, six restaurants honored by ExxonMobil

Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002 | 9:16 a.m.

Four Las Vegas hotels and six restaurants were designated among the nation's best in this year's Mobil Travel Guide.

The top finishers in the travel publication were the Bellagio's Picasso restaurant and the Mirage's Renoir restaurant, which were designated the state's only five-star restaurants. Only 14 restaurants in the country received the guide's top ranking, which the two restaurants have now received for three consecutive years.

No Nevada hotel received a five-star ranking, though four received a four-star designation, which was awarded to 240 hotels across the country. Receiving four-star status for the first time were the Venetian and the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas; repeating as four-star hotels were the Bellagio and Four Seasons. Four-star awards were also given to Harrah's Lake Tahoe and Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe.

Four-star awards were made to four Nevada restaurants, all in Las Vegas. The only new recipient was Lutece in the Venetian; repeat winners were Aqua and Le Cirque, both in the Bellagio, and Nobu in the Hard Rock Hotel.
