Joseph 'Victor' Casimiro

Joseph "Victor" Casimiro, 54, of Las Vegas died Dec. 31 in a local hospice. He was born April 12, 1947, in Portugal. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired manager of an automotive rental company and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Tamara Casimiro of Rhode Island and Tasha Zubko of Las Vegas; one son, Zachary Casimiro of Las Vegas; one sister, Elaine LaPlante, and one brother, Dennis Casimiro, both of Rhode Island; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Richard J. Courson

Richard J. Courson, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born March 13, 1920, in Jamestown, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired accountant, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of American Legion Post 8, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1047, Southern Nevada Officials Association and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; one son, James Courson of Sugar Grove, Pa.; one daughter, Nancy Bennett of Erie, Pa.; one sister, Lois Anderson of Jamestown; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 8, 733 Memorial Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Odyssey Health Care, 4011 McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89121, or the local American Legion Boys State program.

Arthur Fischermann

Arthur Fischermann, 93, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 15, 1908, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was a comptroller and an Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; one son, Dr. Edward Fischerman; one daughter, Florence Ferraro; and one grandchild.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Betty Jo Hampton

Betty Jo Hampton, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Shreveport, La. A resident for 45 years, she was a uniform attendant at the Tropicana hotel for 37 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Earl and Brenda Donahue, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Della Mitchell and Lula Strambler, both of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Clifford Robinson of Louisiana and Mack Neal Robinson of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary's Meadows Room, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Clarence Lane

Clarence Lane, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born April 2, 1924, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 42 years, he was an operations manager for the city of Las Vegas and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Evans of Las Vegas and Deborah L. Lane of Bellingham, Wash.; two sons, James R. Lane of Las Vegas and Edward Lane of Sumas, Wash.; one brother, Robert Lane, and one sister, Betsye Lane, both of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30-2 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

John Lucas

John Lucas, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 10, 1923, in Elizabeth, Pa. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired operating engineer.

He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Cruddace of Livermore, Calif., Janis Cary of Albany, N.Y., and Candy Bennett of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Bennett of Reno; three sisters, Mary Pysz of Elizabeth, Pa., Julia Buck of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Ann Lunsford of Las Vegas; two brothers, George Lucas of Powhatan Point, Ohio, and Andrew Lucas of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Joseph Mazzella

Joseph Mazzella, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 4, 1942, in New York City. A resident for 23 years, he was a casino supervisor who worked at the MGM Grand for the last eight years.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille H.; his mother, Antoinette Mazzella, and one sister, Virginia Pignatello, both of the Bronx, N.Y.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary's chapel, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson.

Rudolph W. Mogavero

Rudolph W. Mogavero, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 28, 1928, in New York City. A resident for 12 years, he was a wholesale salesman.

He is survived by two daughters, Roseann Wayshner of South Burlington, Vt., and Marlene Mogavero of California; and one son, William Mogavero of Dallas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Dallas. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ben Montoya

Ben Montoya, 73, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Wagon Mound, N.M. A resident for 62 years, he was a retired restaurant gourmet waiter and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Laura King Montoya; three sons, Edward L. Montoya, Bennie R. Montoya and Albert R. Montoya, all of Las Vegas; three daughters, Christine R. Vrban and Sonya N. Simonson, both of Las Vegas, and Mary A. Jasso of Henderson; two brothers, Florentino Montoya of Raton, N.M., and Arturo Montoya of Santa Cruz, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 1-5 p.m. today followed by a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St.

Douglas H. Stratton Jr.

Douglas H. Stratton Jr., 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 27, 1939, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for nine years, he was a retired service manager in communications and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; two sons, Grant Stratton of Tempe, Ariz., and Cary Abbott of Wharton, Texas; four daughters, Gina Holmquist of Hamilton, Mont., Jeanine Baber of Phoenix and Kristi Stratton and Pamela Stratton, both of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; his mother, Geraldine Canfield of Prescott, Ariz.; one brother, Jerry Stratton of Tucson; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Kathleen V. Risch

Kathleen V. Risch, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 2, 1922, in Walla Walla, Wash. A resident for 32 years, she was a retired musician and a member of the Musicians Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon V. Risch of Las Vegas; one son, Charles R. Risch of Placentia, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7:45 a.m. Sunday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Peggy Fulstone Sandow

Peggy Fulstone Sandow, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 24, 1932, in Cincinnati. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired real estate investor.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle; one daughter, Debera Fulstone Spear, one son, Robert Wayne Fulstone, and one sister, Jene Marlene Wells, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests contributions to the animal society of the donor's choice.

William C. Stroup

William C. Stroup, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in Indian Springs. He was born July 15, 1946, in Indiana. A resident for many years, he was a hotel electrician.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie of Gardnerville; and his parents, Theodora and Carey Stroup of Indiana.

Marie Tittle

Marie Tittle, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born July 5, 1912, in New York City. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Lydia Beck of Pahrump; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Angeline A. Wisniewski

Angeline A. Wisniewski, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born March 28, 1914, in Mil, Wis. A resident for four years, she was a retired beautician.

She is survived by one daughter, Joanne Dyke of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
