Soledad M. Aceron, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Pampanga, Philippines. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker and a member of Fatima Prayer Group and the St. Nino Prayer Group.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Acora of Henderson and Leonila Abarca of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4:30p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Elizabeth Bommer
Elizabeth Bommer, 75, of Meadview, Ariz., died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 17, 1926, in Compton, Calif. A former resident of Las Vegas, she was a retired food service worker for the school district and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Meadview.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Hill of Nampa, Idaho; two sons, John E. Bommer of El Cajon, Calif., and Wayne Bommer of Mira Loma, Calif.; three sisters, Chestena Baker of Las Vegas, Anna Zwanzig of Grand Terrace, Calif., and Frances Magnuson of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Gary M. Chapman, 35, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 20, 1966, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 22 years, he was a carpenter and a member of the Local 1977.
He is survived by two daughters, Brandy Chapman and Marla Chapman, one son, Carl Chapman, and his father, James A. Chapman, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Lori Luker of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; and five brothers, Thomas Chapman of Sarasota, Fla., James Chapman of Turon, Kan., and Daniel Chapman, Robert Chapman and Kenneth Chapman, all of Las Vegas.

Bryan 'B.J.' Deck
Bryan "B.J." Deck, 29, of Henderson died Tuesday in Alameda, Calif. He was born Dec. 24, 1972, in Bishop, Calif. A resident for 10 years, and a former Tonopah resident, he was a Desert Storm Navy veteran and was in the Coast Guard.
He is survived by his parents, Barbara and John Deck of Henderson; three brothers, Denver Deck of North Las Vegas, Jeffrey Deck of Henderson and Benjamin Deck of Germany; his grandparents, John and Helen Davidson of Pahrump; and his fiancee, Brandi Fisher of Carson City.

Ila J. Evans, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Ladysmith, Wis. A resident for 34 years, she was a retired co-owner of Sandy Cove Bait and Sporting Goods.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jack; two daughters, Jan Massey of Las Vegas, Sue Murphy of Bellingham, Wash.; three sons, Greg Evans of Las Vegas, Dennis Putman of Glendale, Calif., and Jack L. Evans of Los Angeles; one sister, Ione Menton of Gardnerville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; one daughter, Ashley Foster, one son, Devin Manning; her parents, Guy and Betty Foster, and one sister, Debbra Ahern, all of Las Vegas.

Arthur Cornillius Granville Jr.
Arthur Cornillius Granville Jr., 79, of Las Vegas died Dec. 23 in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Massachusetts. A resident for four years, he owned an ice cream and sandwich shop, was an Army veteran and was a member of the Bridge Club.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene; three sons, Arthur, Cornillius and Dennis; one daughter; and five grandchildren.

Terry Eugene Heitkamp, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1949, in Ohio. A resident for seven months, he was an assembler for the Mach company.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Heitkamp of Las Vegas; and one brother, Larry Heitkamp of Minster, Ohio.

Jose Carlos Hernandez, 62, of Las Vegas died Dec. 27 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 4, 1939, in Camaquey, Cuba. A resident for 21 years, he was a porter, kitchen worker and a member of the Masons in Cuba.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; one daughter, Anabel Hernandez of Cuba; his parents, Ismael Hernandez and Matilde M. Dugue, and one sister, Joaquina Hernandez, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Omar Hernandez of Baton Rouge, La., and Ismael Hernandez Jr., of Cuba; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her companion, Gilbert McFarlan of Bullhead City; one daughter, Janice Mahoney Hightower of Las Vegas; three brothers, John Hightower, Joseph Hightower and Jeff Hightower, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Lillian E. Hughes, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 17, 1930, in Austin, Texas. A resident for 11 years, she was a Los Angeles schoolteacher, a member of the Eastern Star and a Deaconess at Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E.; one daughter, Linda Robinson of Rialto, Calif.; one brother, Clifton Hilliard of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mattie Biles of Las Vegas and Jane McDaniel of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.

Hilda Kopelman, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 31, 1913, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 4 1/2 years, she was a retired financial accountant and a member of Workman's Circle and Jacob Lustgarten Lodge.

Arnold Kujat, 60, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1941, in Chicago. A resident for 25 years, he was a service technician for a pest control company, an Army veteran and a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Kujat and Kristen Kujat, both of Henderson.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin; three daughters, Valery Smidt of Sebastopol, Calif., Jill Baker of Torrance, Calif., and Merri Fauchald of Las Vegas; two sons, William Larson of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and Tim Larson of Auburn, Calif.; one brother, Leland Grotte of Plymouth, Minn.; one sister, Linda deBouef, and her mother, Inez Grotte, both of Minneapolis; and seven grandchildren.

Geraldine Malfatone, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1930, in Norfolk, Va. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired Veterans Affairs nurse for the VA hospital in Albuquerque.
She is survived by one brother, Luther; and four sisters, Barbara Jean, Faye, Dotty and Rose.

Augustus J. Mohr Jr., 89, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 28, 1912, in Germantown, Pa. A resident for five years, he was a research scientist.
He is survived by his wife, Carol M.; two sons, Richard Mohr of Weed, Calif., and Albert Meijer of Victorville, Calif.; three daughters, Nancy Condosta of Chino, Calif., Judith Ann Day of Winters, Calif., and Monica Manning of Henderson; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; one daughter, Shelly Hauber of Las Vegas; her mother, Verneda Williams of Cedarville, Texas; one sister, Polly Gibson of Cedarville; four brothers, Orval Gibson of Ashdown, Ark., John Gibson of Longview Texas, Lewis Weaver of Maypearl, Texas, and Tracy Cook of Cedarville; and six grandchildren.

Mark E. Novello, 38, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1963, in Fontana, Calif. A resident for 36 years, he was a casino supervisor, an Army veteran and a member of the Boulder City Men's Golf Association and was awarded the Bronze Star while serving in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He is survived by his wife, Margo L.; his parents, Marcia and Mike Novello of Boulder City; one sister, Michele Higham of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Jeffrey Novello of Mesa, Ariz., and Brian Novello of Las Vegas.

She is survived by one son, Randy Petersen of Minnetonka, Minn.; one brother, Ralph Doran of Seguin, Texas; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Deanna; three daughters, Cari Lynn of Alturas, Calif., Alicia Privette of Salt Lake City and Tonja Bridges of Phoenix; three sons, Gary Privette of Tucson and Guy Privette and Ramie Privette, both of Folsom, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Linda Perry of Pahrump; two stepsons, Douglas Powell of Pahrump and Johnny Adams of Lancaster, Calif.; one brother, Jim Privette of Corona, Calif.; one sister, Jeanette Paluso of La Habra, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
