Thomasville, N.C.-based Old Dominion Freight Line said it plans to open a 24-door service center in Las Vegas at 231 W. Utah Ave. in March, bringing its presence in the West to five states carrying less-than-truckload shipments of general commodities.

The company will open with four employees and expects to add more later. It would not reveal its investment in Las Vegas.

The motor carrier said it would provide next day service from Southern California to Henderson, Las Vegas and Boulder City. The 68-year old company serves 37 mainland states, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska.
