Station exec named president
Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002 | 11:02 a.m.
The Hard Rock hotel-casino announced Tuesday it has named Don Marrandino its president and chief operating officer.
Marrandino was the president of Station Casinos Inc.'s East division, which includes Sunset Station, Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch and Fiesta Henderson. Marrandino also previously served as general manager of the Rio hotel-casino.
Marrandino will take over at Hard Rock on March 4. Station has yet to name his successor.
The Hard Rock did not previously have a COO, while the president's position was held by owner Peter Morton. Morton will remain chairman and chief executive of the off-Strip property, while Marrandino will handle day-to-day operations. Rick Richards, who was the Hard Rock's senior vice president and general manager, resigned in September.
The Hard Rock also said it hired Yale Rowe as its vice president of marketing. Rowe was previously director of marketing at Green Valley Ranch, and will be succeeded by Chris Fiumara, Green Valley Ranch's director of administration.
