18 Nevadans are nominated for honors

Nevada's lieutenant governor, a state Supreme Court justice and 16 other Nevada women have been nominated for the fourth annual Women of Distinction Awards.

The awards, in conjunction with Women's History Month, are sponsored by the National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada Chapter. The award winners will be honored at a March 9 dinner at the Palms.

The nominees for several awards are Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt, Nevada Supreme Court Justice Miriam Shearing, Susann Boylan, Corky Chapel, Bernice Fischer, Yvette Harris, Elana Hatch, Barbara Helgren, Jeanne Richard Jones, Shelby Keefer, Patricia Kirkwood, De Ann Letoureau, Fafie Moore, DeAnne Sheehan, Gillian Silver, Martha Tittle, Sidney Wickliffe and Lou Emmert.

Each nominee was selected by their peers from Nevada professional women's organizations.
