A 43-year-old Las Vegas man died when he slammed his Ford Explorer Sunday night into a fire hydrant, a street sign and then a block wall.
The driver, whose name was not released this morning, apparently veered off Washington Avenue Sunday about 9:30 p.m. and onto a sidewalk near Twin Lakes Drive. The driver then crashed into various obstacles before being partially ejected when the vehicle hit the wall, Metro Police said.
Another driver had been behind the Explorer and was on the phone with 911 reporting the victim's erratic driving, police said.
