Pedestrian hit by bus, dies

A 63-year-old Las Vegas man died Thursday night at University Medical Center after he was struck by a Citizens Area Transit bus on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Larry Vincent Kubis was standing on the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard, about 775 feet south of Riviera Boulevard, with a group of pedestrians waiting to cross the street about 10:15 p.m., Metro Police said.

As the bus headed north on Las Vegas Boulevard, Kubis stepped out in front of it and was struck, police said.

Witnesses are asked to call Secret Witness at 385-5555, or Detective William Redfairn at 229-3128.
