Kacey Ellis carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finished with a one-hit win as the UNLV softball team defeated Southern Utah, 7-2, in the nightcap of a Wednesday doubleheader at Eller Media Stadium.
Ellis had struck out six, walked three, and allowed no runner past second base through five innings. However, SUU's Rulen Andrade singled to left with one out and one on in the sixth.
The win was the second of the day for UNLV, which escaped with a 1-0 eight-inning victory in the opener.
