DA’s Bad Check Unit receives honor
Thu, Feb 21, 2002 (8:32 a.m.)
The Nevada Taxpayers Association has honored the Clark County district attorney office's Bad Check Diversion Unit with its annual Cashman good government award.
State and local government employees whose work is focused on the wise and careful use of taxpayer dollars are considered.
The Bad Check Diversion Unit assists businesses victimized by bad checks. In the 1995 the unit was created and staffed with one employee but now has 30 employees and collected more than $23 million in bad debt in fiscal year 2001.
