Mirtha Aguero

Mirtha Aguero, 70, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Cuba. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired eyeglass technician.

She is survived by her husband, Pio; two sons, Mario Aguero and Victor Aguero, and one sister, Mary Blanco, all of Henderson; four brothers, Jose Garcia of Miami and Raul Garcia, Rolando Garcia and Juan Garcia, all of Cuba; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Mazie 'Abbott' Atchison

Mazie "Abbott" Atchison, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 26, 1929, in St. George, Utah. A lifelong resident, she was a cook.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Bradshaw of Las Vegas; one son, Eddie Kelly of Pahrump; two sisters, Golda Hicken of St. George and Beverly Bowler of Veyo, Utah; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Craig A. Becker

Craig A. Becker, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1955, in Waverly, Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a dealer and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; three sons, Jeffrey Becker, Robert Becker and Daniel Becker, all of Las Vegas; his father, Robert C. Becker of Waverly; and one sister, Janice Mullins of Pine Top, Ariz.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main, followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Sara Blumenfeld

Sara Blumenfeld of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born in Tamaqua, Pa. A resident for 33 years, she was a retired highway patrol secretary supervisor.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Rezac of Las Vegas and Dale Feranda of Corona Del Mar, Calif.; her companion, Dennis Darrin of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Michael Leon Brown

Michael Leon Brown, 60, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 19, 1941, in Denver. A lifelong resident, he was a catering worker and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gerlinde; and three sons, Michael Brown, Christopher Brown and Garrett Brown, all of Las Vegas.

Graveside services are scheduled 11:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mildred L. Browning

Mildred L. Browning, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Neck City, Mo. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Cruse, and two sons, Troy L. Browning and Brian "Keith" Browning, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Bonnie Robinson of Rocky Comfort, Mo., and Karen Chaney of Purcell, Mo.; three brothers, Rex Sidenstricker of Purcel and Gary Sidenstricker and Howard Sidenstricker, both of Joplin, Mo.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Rolland Boyd Clift

Rolland Boyd Clift, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Glendale, Idaho. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired Army engineer and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Katherine C. Wright of Las Vegas; two brothers, John Bradley Ellis of Boulder City and William J. Ellis of Fort Worth, Texas; and three sisters, Barbara Garvin of Reno, Darlene Wilson of Chilcoot, Calif., and Beverly Park of Las Vegas; and six half brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Ralph J. Coccaro

Ralph J. Coccaro, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 16, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired sanitation worker.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Ralph Coccaro Jr., of Encino, Calif., and Michael Coccaro of Stony Brook, N.Y.; one sister, Marion Roventini of Brooklyn; four brothers, Nunzio Coccaro of New York, Michael Coccaro of Queens, N.Y., and Salvatore Coccaro and Joe Coccaro, both of Brooklyn; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled 2:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.

Helen V. Franklin

Helen V. Franklin, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1918, Chillicothe, Ohio. A resident for 20 years, she was a bar maid.

She is survived by one daughter, Treasia A. Hollimon of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Mitchell of Chicago; four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. James Apostle Catholic Church, 820 N. H St., followed by a private burial.

Kent Lawrence Gilliam

Kent Lawrence Gilliam of Las Vegas died in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 3, 1961, in Burbank, Calif. A resident for 20 years, he was a dealer.

He is survived by one daughter, Angel Ann Gilliam, and one son, Ace Charles Gilliam, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Gloria Watson of Sunland, Calif.; and two brothers, David Gilliam of Las Vegas and Mark Gilliam of San Diego.

Memorial services are scheduled 3 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Julia F. Gove

Julia F. Gove, 75, of Henderson died Monday in Bullhead City, Ariz. She was born April 5, 1926, in Nebraska. A resident for nine months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles.

Visitation was scheduled 2-4 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. No services are scheduled. Burial will be in Nebraska.

Leola Harris

Leola Harris, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 2, 1913, in Mount Rose, Ark. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one sister, Lula Campbell of Las Vegas; 59 grandchildren and 134 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Tried Stone Baptist Church, 621 W. Carey Ave., followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Joseph L. Hodges III

Joseph L. Hodges III, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 9, 1942, in Wilmington, N.C. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired Air Force major and Vietnam War veteran, and a member of the Order of Daedalians.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Laura Hodges of San Francisco and Alicia Westmoreland of Las Vegas; one son, Joseph L. Hodges IV of Alexandria, Va.; his mother, Martha Hodges of South Boston, Va.; two sisters, Jackie Dark of Easley, S.C., and Bobbie Kirkpatrick of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Dave Rockwood of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Alma Rosendo Hollingsworth

Alma Rosendo Hollingsworth, 58, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 3, 1944, in the Philippines. A longtime resident, she was a telephone clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Hollingsworth of Milwaukee; her father, Hilario Rosendo, and her mother, Cristina Aban, both of the Philippines.

Jazmon Nicole Kiser

Jazmon Nicole Kiser, 1 month old, died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 14 in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Tina Everhart, one sister, Shaelyn Shell, and her grandparents, John and Susann Butler, all of Las Vegas.

Memorial services are scheduled noon Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Carmelita Eva Martinez

Carmelita Eva Martinez, 82, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. Born Aug. 31, 1919, in Walsenberg, Colo., she was a homemaker.

She is survived by six sons, David Martinez of Thornton, Colo., Gary Martinez, Robert Martinez and Rudy Martinez, all of Pueblo, Colo., and Chris Martinez and Jerry Martinez, both of Denver; one brother, Arthur Gonzalez of Pueblo; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Bobby D. McBeth

Bobby D. McBeth, 59, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1942, in Buckeye, Ariz. A resident for 37 years, he was a Vietnam War Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sherron; one daughter, Christina McBeth-Mulloy of North Las Vegas; two sons, Robert McBeth of Las Vegas and Christopher Mulloy of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Jeffrey Jefferson of Las Vegas and O.J. McBeth of Oklahoma; three sisters, Diane of Las Vegas, Robbie of Arkansas and Brenda of Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren.

Claude W. Morgan

Claude W. Morgan, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Yuma, Ariz. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer and World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marietta F.; two daughters, Claudette Gayle Sevier of North Bend, Ore., and Marietta Yvonne Young of Henderson; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by a private burial.

Eunice Northam, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born March 11, 1909, in Salpulpa, Okla. A longtime resident, she was a teacher and a bookkeeper.

Avis Pohl

Avis Pohl of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Kansas. A resident for 20 years, she was a teacher.

She is survived by one sister, Alberta Radnor of Kansas.

Joseph Rafanello

Joseph Rafanello, 60, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Neward, N.J. A resident for eight years, he was a security guard.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Jo; two daughters, Melissa Widuch of New Jersey and Alicia Rafanello of Henderson; his mother, Anne Rafanello, and two brothers, Benedict Rafanello and Dennis Rafanello, all of New Jersey; and one grandchild.

Louis R. 'Big Lou' Rawson

Louis R. "Big Lou" Rawson, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born May 13, 1923, in Waynesburg, Ohio. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired security guard, World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Glass Workers Union.

He is survived by one daughter, Betty Ann Veveiros of Woonsocket, R.I., three sons, Donald Rawson, Robert Rawson and Edward Rawson, all of Pawtucket, R.I.; one stepdaughter, Sara Abraham of Las Vegas; one stepson, Peter Huegel of Glendale, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Margaret Reed, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Butte, Mont. A resident for 33 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; three sons, Tim, Tom and Ted, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Tom Murray of Tacoma, Wash., two sisters, Patsy Murray of Las Vegas and Connie Centoni of Missoula, Mont.; and eight grandchildren.

Edith Mae Sims

Edith Mae Sims, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April, 24, 1922, in Texas. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Kenny Sims of Houston, Terry Sawyer of Paris, Calif., and Ronald Anglin of Arizona; one daughter, Trisha Sims of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Nelson of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dan Slee

Dan Slee, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 25, 1937, in Maumee, Ohio. A resident for 16 years, he was a hotel engineering director and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; three daughters, Cinda Senick of North Royalton, Ohio, Dana Schmucker of Goshen, Ind., and Kristi Grandstaff of Las Vegas; one sister, Linda Helmke of Napoleon, Ohio; one brother, David Slee of Ohio; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Grover Smith, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1927, in Forest, Miss. A resident for six months, he was a construction worker and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; and one stepson, David Blythe of Arizona.

John L. Smith

John L. Smith, 28, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1973, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a retired construction laborer.

He is survived by one daughter, Zhjanee Smith, and one brother, Jevon Smith, both of Las Vegas; his father, John Turner Sr. of North Carolina; two sisters, Valerie Turner of North Carolina and Andrea Turner of Las Vegas; one brother, John Turner Jr., of North Carolina; and his grandmother, Beneva Smith of Las Vegas.

Loretta 'Lolly' Todd

Loretta "Lolly" Todd, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Braidwood, Ill. A resident for nine years, she was a hair dresser.

She is survived by two daughters, Jodi Wiseman and Nancee Hanson, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ione Kessler of Sun City West, Ariz., and Marge Holm of Joliet, Ill.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Rizalina V. Viloria

Rizalina V. Viloria, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born June 19, 1933, in the Philippines. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired college teacher and a member of Our Lady Rosary Makers.

She is survived by two daughters, Vivian V. Ehrman of Bloomfield, Mich., and Victoria V. Jarina of Las Vegas; two sons, Vrando V. Viloria and Venerando V. Viloria, both of the Philippines; three daughters, Vinia V. Dinio, Annabelle V. Viloria and Vismin Sue V. Titus, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Romeo Villafuerte of the Philippines; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Sachiko Vliet, 59, of Las Vegas died Jan. 29 in Las Vegas. She was born March 5, 1942.

William Boyd Wimpee Jr.

William Boyd Wimpee Jr., 35, of Las Vegas died Friday in Primm. He was born Sept. 19, 1966, in San Jose, Calif. A resident for seven months, he was an iron worker.

He is survived by his wife, Morning-Star; one son, Tyler Wimpee; his father, William Wimpee Sr.; his mother, Joyce Ryan; one brother, Brandon Wimpee; and one sister, Stephanie James.
