Gorman, LV players MVPs in conferences

With their teams in the hunt for this week's 4A state title, Bishop Gorman guard C.J. Watson and Las Vegas High forward Jeremy Atwater have been selected as the players of the year for their respective conferences by area boys basketball coaches.
Joining Watson on the All-Sunset first team were Cheyenne's Keith Richardson and Johnny Wheeler, Cimarron-Memorial's Jason Petrimoulx and Robert Young, Clark's Mike Philogene and Western's Leonta Matthews. Centennial's Greg Bohls and Gorman's Grant Rice shared Sunset Coach of the Year honors.
Along with Atwater, the All-Sunrise first team was comprised of Desert Pines' Nick Porter, Green Valley's Mitch Platt, Foothill's Kevin Marshall, Basic's Allan Smith and Valley's Chris Tisdell. Basic's Kurt Bailey was named Sunrise Coach of the Year.
