Letter: Stop raiding Social Security

Monday, Feb. 18, 2002 | 8:37 a.m.

Bright advice from the financial wizards in Washington, D.C., on how to keep Social Security from going broke: Invest the funds. I gather they meant in secure corporations such as Enron and Global Crossing. Whoops.

We seniors who have financially contributed to Social Security for many years can tell them how to keep it from going broke: Stop raiding the surplus. That is the logical way, and something not done in Washington, D.C.
