Williams discusses his art
Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 | 9:52 a.m.
Actor/painter Billy Dee Williams will be at the just-opened Markman Gallery today in the Rio's Masquerade Village to discuss a display of his latest work, including his "Heart"-themed paintings.
Williams will appear from 7-9 p.m. to discuss the special exhibit, on display through March 30.
The event is free and open to the public.
Known for his screen roles in "Lady Sings the Blues" and "Mahogany" with Diana Ross, and as Lando Calrissian in two of the Star Wars films ("Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi"), Williams has also appeared in "Batman" and the original TV movie "Brian's Song."
He's also known for his Colt 45 malt-liquor commercials, where his smooth-delivery and good looks as the beer's commercial spokesman were often parodied, including on "Saturday Night Live."
