George Carl Abernathy Jr.
George Carl Abernathy Jr., 88, of Las Vegas died Jan. 31 in Las Vegas. He was born July 25, 1913, in Shawnee, Okla. A resident for 50 years, he was an attorney and partner with Lionel, Sawyer and Collins and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Roma Lee; four daughters, Ann Ransdell of Lubbock, Texas, Helen Lawrence of Manchester, Conn., Ruth Peksens of Westwood, Mass., and Gail Lyall of Burlington, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, Meadows Chapel, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Michael Donald Berg
Michael Donald Berg, 48, of Las Vegas died Jan. 30 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1953, in Inglewood, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a manager in the real estate industry and a lifetime member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by one son, Steven; one daughter, Wendy; one brother, Jay; one sister, Beth; and four grandchildren.

Joseph John Berka
Joseph John Berka, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1924, in Akron, Ohio. A resident for 16 years, he was a plumber.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel; five sons, Joe Berks Jr., Mike Berka, Jeff Berka, Jay Berka and Lloyd Nicholson; seven daughters, Janet Salba, Pam Weber, Kim DeBerry, Jackie Wickham, Jody Holland, Inez Sanchez and Mary Ellen Gardenas; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Satina Lynn Bowlin
Satina Lynn Bowlin, 34, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A resident for nine months, she was born Dec. 27, 1967, in Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Leo; her father, Gregory Lee Momen; her mother, Lavanda Lee Roberts; four sons, Michael Leo Cain, Jessie Eygeni Cain Roberts, John Wayn Cain Roberts and Gregory Lee Cain Roberts; one daughter, Crystal Leeann Schimins; two brothers, Gary Lee Sory and Robert Lee Bowlin; and three sisters, Romajean Williams, Laura Claudine Sory and Jackie Inez Bowlin.

Lorraine C. Brownell
Lorraine C. Brownell, 83, of Las Vegas and Sequim, Wash., died Sunday in Las Vegas. A medical transcriptionist for the Clark County Health District, she was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Hackensack, N.J.
She is survived by two daughters, Arleen Jurgensen of Las Vegas and Donna Hempel of Port Angeles, Wash.; one son, Tom Snow of Las Vegas; one brother, Edward Carr of Hampstead, N.C.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas Alvin Coleman, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 4, 1915, in Denton, Texas. A resident for 38 years, he was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired hotel general manager who opened the first local Holiday Inn and .
He is survived by his wife, Clara "Lucy"; one son, Thomas L. Coleman of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Alejandro DeSantiago
Alejandro DeSantiago, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A carpenter, he was born May 6, 1928, in Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine of El Paso, Texas; one son, Antonio Perez of Pasadena, Calif.; and one daughter, Deborah DeSantiago of Las Vegas.

Arthur M. Dey
Arthur M. Dey, 83, of Las Vegas died Feb. 6 in Las Vegas. He was born June 9, 1918, in Ohio. A resident for 10 years, he was a pastor and taught school in an Indiana Amish community during the 1940s.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn A.; two sons, Harold Dey and Richard Dey, both of Las Vegas; three daughters, Bonnie Dey of Misison Viejo, Calif., Janet Sandlin of Tehachapi, Calif., and Julie Treide of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Bakersfield, Calif. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Annie Dora Dunn
Annie Dora Dunn, 94, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 20, 1907, in Lighting Ridge, Okla. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired teacher at Quannah McCall and Doris Hancock elementary schools.
She is survived by one son, Don Dunn, one daughter, Mary Graves, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Entombment will follow in Eden Vale Mausoleum.
Hearl Everhart
Hearl Everhart, 74, of Las Vegas died Feb. 4 in a local hospice. He was born March 10, 1927, in Kentucky. A resident for 10 years, he was a painter and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; two sons, Dennis Everhart and William Everhart; one daughter, Vickie Low; two brothers, Alvie and Chester; five sisters, Jean, Avis, Marie, Creda and Ida; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lillian D. Finelli, 89, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born March 29, 1912, in New York. A resident for 17 years, she was a dental hygienist and a volunteer for Senior Friends at St. Rose Dominican Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, John Finelli of Carlisle, Pa., and Robert Finelli of Las Vegas; one brother, Salvatore Finelli of Pound Ridge, N.Y.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Rose M. Forti, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Fort Smith, Ark. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired secretary for a steel company.
She is survived by one son, John L. Forti Jr., and her mother, Marie Madejrich, both of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Dale Wiles of Las Vegas and Pat Rehberg of Prescott, Ariz.

Christa Gessler, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Germany. A resident for 18 years, she was an office manager.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony; her mother, Emmy Schmidt; and one brother, Franklin Schmidt.
