Police suspect murder-suicide
A 52-year-old Las Vegas man apparently shot his estranged wife Wednesday night, then killed himself, Metro Police.
Officers called to a mobile home park in the 200 block of East Tropicana Avenue near Koval Lane about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday found 38-year Rosario Valdivia and her estranged husband, Reuben Valdivia shot.
Police said Reuben Valdivia apparently drove to his wife's home. They said she left her trailer and was standing outside his truck when he shot her and then himself.
Witnesses told police the pair were married, but had separated. The couple had a history of domestic disputes, police said.
Las Vegas man killed in crash
A 44-year-old Las Vegas man is dead following a fiery head-on crash on U.S. 93 about 60 miles north of Ely, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Bardomiano Gonzalez-Ramirez was southbound on the highway and drifted across the center line into the path of a rental truck.
The two collided and his van burst into flames.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Jasen Betz, 22, of Hermiston, Ore., was flown to Northeast Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko with multiple injuries.
The wreck closed U.S. 93 at Lages Junction from just past midnight Tuesday until after daybreak.
