Sport: Wrestling
Currently: One of two seniors on the Ducks' wrestling squad this year, Harris is ranked No. 5 in the nation at 165 pounds with a 25-3 record (12-2 in the Pac-10). He was a combined 49-29 during his first two seasons at Oregon after transferring from Lassen (Calif.) Community College, finishing fourth at the Pac-10 Championships in both seasons and making two trips to the NCAA Tournament. Ranked No. 1 in the Pac-10 in his weight class, he is expected to compete for an individual conference title.
Looking back: A four-year varsity performer, Harris capped his prep career with the 152-pound state title in 1997, helping the Spartans to a second-place team finish. His younger brother, Chris, captured three individual state titles at Cimarron. Eugene Harris also played soccer for the Spartans.
