Harvey Alan Axelrod

Harvey Alan Axelrod, 56, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Los Angeles. He was born April 7, 1945, in Ohio. A resident for 33 years, he was a boxman at Bellagio.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Kathy Tatz and Karen Montoya, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Marvin Axelrod of Texas and Gary Axelrod of Cleveland; one sister, Rina Humbert of Cleveland; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Mayhue D. Blaine

Mayhue D. Blaine, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 25, 1909, in Scotland County, Mo. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force colonel and command pilot who received the Legion of Merit and Air Force Commendation Medal among other decorations. He was a former commercial airline pilot.

He is survived by his wife, Verel; two daughters, Barbara Wertz of Bloomsbury, N.J., and Margaret B. Corrigan of New Brighton, Minn.; one brother, Millard Blaine of Baring, Mo.; four sisters, Verlee Blaine of Madisonville, Ky., Ethel Millett of San Antonio, Madeline Phillips of Kankakee, Ill., and Maxine Brewer of Baring; two grandchildren, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Frances 'Babe' Bulloch

Frances "Babe" Bulloch, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 11, 1918, in Midvale, Utah. A resident for 70 years, she retired as a clerk for the justice and federal courts after more than 30 years.

She is survived by two nieces, Carol Darrin and Maxine Simons, and one nephew, Henry 'Rick' Culley, all of Las Vegas; four grandnieces and four grandnephews.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Viators Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will be private.

Aida M. Carreon

Aida M. Carreon, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 9, 1910, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker, jeweler and seamstress in the Philippines.

She is survived by five daughters, Josephine Carreon Fisher of New York City, Rosa Carreon Tirona of Daly City, Calif., Fe Carreon Benedicto of San Francisco, Rosario Carreon Crouchet of Las Vegas and Remedios Quizon of the Philippines; two sons, Ramon Carreon Javier of Manila and Alfredo Carreon Javier of New York City; one goddaughter, Shirley Caudle of Las Vegas; 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 2-8 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. rosary in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Deborah S. Casper

Deborah S. Casper, 45, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A video transcribing supervisor at Family Court, a member of the Barbie Club of Las Vegas and the FBI Alumni Association, she was born Oct. 4, 1956, in El Paso, Texas.

She is survived by her parents, Martha and Wayne Casper of Las Vegas; and one brother, Gary Casper.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Burial will be private.

Selina 'Lena' Oxborrow Christiansen

Selina "Lena" Oxborrow Christiansen, 97, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 3, 1904, in Lund. A resident of Las Vegas for 30 years and a lifelong Nevada resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Clark and Alice J. Bunker, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Gardner of Mesa, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday at the LDS chapel at Tropicana and Burnham avenues. Graveside services will be noon Monday in Lund Cemetery. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Phyllis A. Clark

Phyllis A. Clark, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Los Angeles. A resident for 60 years, she was a retired owner of an electrical contracting company, a member of the El Giza Temple Daughters of the Nile, Ladies of the Oriental Shrine, Acacia Court Order of the Amaranth and Society of Friends of Las Vegas, a recipient of the Girl Scout Thanks Badge and the Boy Scout Silver Fawn.

She is survived by two sons, Howard Clark III and Mark Clark, and one daughter, Wendy Clark, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Kimie Clark

Kimie Clark, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Japan. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond L.

Harold Loyce Cowger

Harold Loyce Cowger, 69, of Las Vegas and Pahrump died Thursday. He was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Colorado. A resident for 47 years, he was a Clark County firefighter, a Nevada Test Site firefighter and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Pam Pederson of Las Vegas, Lenora Cashman of California, Kelly Cowger of Montana and Yvonne Young of Texas; one son, John Cowger of California; two stepsons, Ed Seastrunk of Las Vegas and Michael Seastrunk of Pahrump; his mother, Ada Cowger of Las Vegas; two sisters, Dawn Leavitt of Las Vegas and Fern Hatly of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Virginia F. Doherty

Virginia F. Doherty, 87, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Sept. 28, 1914, in Missouri. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Olson of Las Vegas, Patricia Rowe of Monroe, Ore., and Frances Carey of Pahrump; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Floyd E. Entner

Floyd E. Entner, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1940, in Hinckley Village, Minn. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired pit boss.

He is survived by his wife, Hildegarde; one daughter, Jean Stewart of Sacramento; one son, Kevin Johnston of Minot, Wis.; one brother, Archie Entner of Brook Park, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Mario M. Greco

Mario M. Greco, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired World War II and Korean War Naval engineer, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a former treasurer and director for the Golden Gliders.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; one son, Michael Greco, and one daughter, Marion Liebegott, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Reta Barbara Kirwin

Reta Barbara Kirwin, 95, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 9, 1906, in Ennis, Mont. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Dorothy Bensen of Minnesota; two sisters, Phyllis Kirby and Edith Earley, both of Las Vegas; and 30 grandchildren.

Edith M. LaVorgna, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1916, in New Haven, Conn. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired convenience store owner.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Willison of Chatsworth, Calif., and Lorraine Germany of Garland, Texas; one son, Larry LaVorgna of Las Vegas; two sisters, Evelyn Angeletti and Jenny Spignesi, and one brother, Armond DeLucia, all of New Haven, Conn.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Theresa E. Noland, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Denver. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired claim representative for an insurance company.

She is survived by two brothers, Edward J. Miller of Las Vegas and Carl E. Miller of Littleton, Calif.

Estell Pack

Estell Pack, 100, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Boulder City. She was born Oct. 9, 1901, in California. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Loretta Hinmon-Silvers of Henderson, Dovetta Lee of Las Vegas and Ida Patterson of California; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Whittier, Calif.Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Margaretta C. Pentoney

Margaretta C. Pentoney, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 10, 1917, in Pittsburgh. A resident for nine years, she was a retired cook.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Bolan of Duluth, Minn., and Penny Mondragon and Kathleen Pentoney, both of Gettysburg, Pa.; one son, Rick Pentoney of South Londonderry, Vt.; one sister, Esther Walko of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Esther J. Schiavone

Esther J. Schiavone, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 27, 1914, in Boston. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Audrey Schiavone of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Polly Sue Self

Polly Sue Self, 65, of Pahrump died Friday in Pahrump. She was born Jan. 10, 1937, in Fortville, Ind. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, John Self of Arizona and James Self of California; and two daughters, Frances of Kentucky and Diana Marraquin of New York.

Clair O. Whitehead Jr.

Clair O. Whitehead Jr., 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired owner of a service station, a World War II Army private first class and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Basic Post 3848 in Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Dennis J. Whitehead of Boaz, Ky., and Gary Whitehead of Las Vegas; one daughter, Barbara S. Vaccaro of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 2-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services are private.

Robert Wilson

Robert Wilson, 75, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired insurance agent and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; five daughters, Anna Davis, Rita August, Beverly Irwin and Lorene Wilson, all of Chicago, and Catherine Crocker of Atlanta; and eight grandchildren.

Edward D. Wright

Edward D. Wright, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 30, 1932, in Beckley, W.Va. A resident for four years, he was a retired police officer, an Air Force veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Narcisa M.; two daughters, Rita Smith of Hampton, Va., and Ivory Tolentino of Las Vegas; one sister, Maryella Alson of Charleston, W.Va.; two brothers, Herbert Wright of Beckley and Stuart Wright of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
