The two passengers killed in a one-vehicle accident last week have been identified as 18-year-old Rodrigo Lopez and 33-year-old Gilberto Palafox.
The two were rear-seat passengers in a Ford Explorer driven by 18-year-old David Samaniego-Cerna. The SUV flipped and slid along Las Vegas Boulevard South near the Stardust hotel Thursday about 1 a.m.
Samaniego-Cerna apparently lost control of the SUV when trying to pass a slower moving car. He and another passenger were treated for minor injuries.
Samaniego-Cerna was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence with accident involving deaths, Metro Police said.
