Fannie Bandiera

Fannie Bandiera, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Emilio Bandiera of Shedd, Ore., and Michael Bandiera of Burbank, Calif.; one daughter, Judy Purcell of Las Vegas; one brother, Otto Deninno of Phoenix; two sisters, Rose Doria of North Babylon, N.Y., and Mary Richardson of Queens, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

The family suggests donations to Odyssey Harbor House, 4011 McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Robert F. Baran

Robert F. Baran, 63, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born May 13, 1938, in Cleveland. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired owner of an auto body shop, a Navy veteran, a member of the Eagle and Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; two sons, Michael Baran of Las Vegas and Daniel Baran of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four daughters, Valerie Baran, Kimberly Baran and Amanda Baran, all of Las Vegas, and Pamela Murphy of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Donald Baran of Cleveland; and three grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Jeanne Evelyn Bode-Federici

Jeanne Evelyn Bode-Federici, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1929, in New Brunswick, N.J. A resident for more than 25 years, she owned Your Mail Box for 16 years.

She is survived by her husband, Gino; three sons, Jim Bode of Lancaster, Calif., Brad Bode of Las Vegas and Dwight Bode of Crested Butte, Colo.; one daughter, Brigitte Solvie of Las Vegas; three stepdaughters, Bettina Federici of Los Angeles, Karen Doxtader of Poway, Calif., and Susan Stanley-Witt of Hamburg, Germany; and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sunday in Hallelujah Christian Fellowship, 800 N. Rancho Drive. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Kitty Boozer

Kitty Boozer, 53, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 6, 1948, in California. A resident for 24 years, she was executive director for CMA Business Credit Services.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; his parents, Alvin and Jeanne Young; two daughters, Cher Gersch and Amy Gersch-Santoro; and one sister, Dianna Leigh.

Aloha June Brown

Aloha June Brown, 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born June 25, 1929, in Kansas. A resident for 12 years, she was an executive secretary.

She is survived by one son, Rick; four brothers, Orland Schulz, Harold Schulz, Bernard Schulz and Howard Schulz; and two sisters, Joan Moody and Janie Head.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Kansas. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Michael Comeau

Michael Comeau, 46, of Las Vegas died Feb. 1 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 13, 1956, in Canada. A resident for nine years, he was a security officer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his father, Jean; one brother, Marc; and two sisters, Paullett and Rachelle.

A memorial service will be noon until 2 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Anthony Diverde

Anthony Diverde, 81, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 22, 1920, in New Castle, Pa. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired district sales manager for a life insurance company.

He is survived by two sons, Kent Diverde of Las Vegas and Robert Diverde of Everett, Wash.; one daughter, Denise Redman of Henderson; two sisters, Antoinette Hill of Las Vegas and Jane LaVenuta of Carlsbad, Calif.; three brothers, John Diverde of Las Vegas, Andrew Diverde of Watseka, Ill., and Frank Diverde of Vista, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Vasilios I. 'Bill' Kestekidis

Vasilios I. "Bill" Kestekidis, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Saloniki, Greece. A resident for 13 years, he was a union welder.

He is survived by one sister, Evridiki Kestekidou of Greece.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A cryptside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Eden Vale Mausoleum.

Paul Alfred Lawrence

Paul Alfred Lawrence, 69, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he owned a delivery service and was a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; two sons, Paul Lawrence of Henderson and Glenn Hagle of Wyandotte, Mich.; three daughters, Sue Lawrence of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Kathy Falkey of Anaheim, Calif., and Alysia Hagle of Wyandotte; two brothers, Rudy Lawrence and Nicholas Burger of Buena Park, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Michael C. Mathis

Michael C. Mathis, 51, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 1, 1950, in Salem, Ill. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired manager of an auto supply store.

He is survived by one son, Jesse Mathis, and his mother, Kathlyn Mathis, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, David W. Mathis of Henderson.

Matilda 'Tillie' Maxwell

Matilda "Tillie" Maxwell, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Albany, N.Y. A resident for five years, she was a retired restaurateur.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann Andriano of Las Vegas; two sons, Bill Maxwell of Las Vegas and Tom Maxwell of Albany; one brother, Bill Lombardo, and one sister, Mary Baumbaca, both of Albany; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Joseph McJimsey

Joseph McJimsey, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, he was a newspaper editor for 40 years and most recently a contributing editor at Gaming Today.

He is survived by one son, Joseph A. McJimsey of Van Nuys, Calif.; and two half-brothers, both out of state.

No local services are scheduled. Graveside services will be in Brooklyn, N.Y. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

James E. 'Mitch' Mitchell Jr.

James E. "Mitch" Mitchell Jr., 52, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1949, in Pennsylvania. A resident for four years, he was an engineering operator for the government and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; one daughter, Dawn Mitchell of Las Vegas; one son, Michael Mitchell of North Las Vegas; and two sisters, Sandy Mitchell and Bonnie Thompson, both of Pennsylvania.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Lucy Josephine Mooers

Lucy Josephine Mooers, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Hartford, Conn. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Lee; one daughter, Donna Roshak of Las Vegas; two sons, Jim Mooers of Reno and John Mooers of Chelan, Wash.; one brother, Joe Listro of Windsor, Conn.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

David Nisi

David Nisi, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Italy. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hotel executive chef.

He is survived by one daughter, Alexandrina Peterson of Camarillo, Calif.; two sons, Chris Nisi of Las Vegas and Roderick Nisi of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.

Kevin Merrill Orme

Kevin Merrill Orme, 41, of Las Vegas died Jan. 24 in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1960, in San Jose, Calif. A resident for two months, he was a retail sales manager.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda W.; two daughters, Stephanie Orme of Las Vegas and Roseann Otis of Costa Mesa, Calif.; two stepsons, David Christy and Aaron Christy, both of Torrance, Calif.; two sisters, Harolyn Orme of Slidell, La., and Yolanda Orme of San Bernardino, Calif.; one brother, Jimi Taylor of Anchorage, Alaska; and two grandchildren.

Michael Thomas Patterson

Michael Thomas Patterson, 40, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. A welder and member of American Power Boat Association and Crackerbox Club, he was born July 18, 1961, in Phoenix.

He is survived by his loving friend, Twyla Reppen; and one sister, Suzanne DiMarco of California.

Joaquina Perez

Joaquina Perez, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Candelaria, Cuba. A resident for 29 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Fernando; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Martin Pomerantz

Martin Pomerantz, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 2, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for one year, he was an electronics salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; two sons, Carey Pomerantz of Spokane, Wash., and Allan Pomerantz of Las Vegas; one daughter, Sheri Avery of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Jene' Prince of Phoenix and Julie A. Prince of Las Vegas; one brother, John Starks of Goodyear, Ariz.; and one sister, Patricia McNutt of Las Vegas.

Ovida Virginia 'Obe' Rowe

Ovida Virginia "Obe" Rowe, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Blanco, N.M. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired El Cortez casino cashier.

She is survived by three sons, Valente Guerrero, John Ulibarri and Hugh Rowe, and one daughter, Catalina Santos, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Mary Boyd and Agripina Gallegos, both of North Las Vegas, and Candi Ozuna of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn Shumaker, 70, of Pahrump died Wednesday in a Pahrump medical center. She was born March 1, 1931, in Mount Oliver, Pa. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Gail; three daughters, Gayle Loyd of Las Vegas, Carla Price of Pahrump and Brenda Nelson of Pleasanton, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Steven Smith, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 12, 1947, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a floral delivery driver.

He is survived by one son, Sean Smith of Buckley, Wash.; two daughters, Dena DePaulo and Trisha Celano, his mother, Margaret Smith, and one brother, Rick Smith, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
