The Las Vegas Convention Center is playing host to an unprecedented number of conventions and trade shows in a short span, thanks to the completion of the 1.3 million-square-foot expansion that opened last month.
LVCVA officials said the center is the site of eight shows in nine days, attracting 67,000 people to events that will occupy more than 1.7 million square feet through Feb. 14.
The eight shows being conducted from Feb. 6-14 include the American Fence Association, 6,000 delegates; World Shoe Association, 25,000; Pizza Expo, 8,000; Aqua International, 6,000; Electric West, 5,000; Awards & Recognition Association, 5,000; American Apparel & Footwear Association, 2,000; and Call Center Expo, 10,000.
In addition, the Convention Center will be one of three venues for one of the city's largest trade shows the following week, the Men's Apparel Guild in California, Feb. 19-22, which will bring 100,000 people to the city.
