Real estate research firm Robert Charles Lesser & Co. on Wednesday named Summerlin the nation's best-selling master-planned community for the ninth time in 10 years.
Lesser & Co.'s statistics show Summerlin posted 2,976 new home sales in 2001.
Del Webb Corp.'s Anthem community in Henderson ranked sixth in the nation for new home sales for the second year in a row, with 1,418 units sold last year.
Summerlin is a 22,000-acre Howard Hughes Corp. development in the Las Vegas Valley's west side. It sold 902 more homes than the nation's second-best-selling community, the Villages in Orlando, Fla.
Del Webb has five communities among the 20 best-selling master-plans, including projects in Phoenix, Sacramento and Palm Springs, Calif.
