Roy Bennett
Roy Bennett, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Dougherty, Okla. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired ironworker and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sisters, Vera Morse and Bobbe Moore, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Troy Bennett of Pampa, Texas, and Jimmy Bennett of Northglenn, Colo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Ellen Childers
Ellen Childers, 76, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. A homemaker, she was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin.
Graveside services will be in Texas. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Violet 'Mum' Collis
Violet "Mum" Collis, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 21, 1912, in London. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Rains of Las Vegas and Kathy Blair of Henderson; one sister, Peggy Curly of England; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Jerrie H. Coyle
Jerrie H. Coyle, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Neche, N.D. A resident for five years, she was a retired owner-operator of a hospitality company.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; one son, Perry Coyle, and one daughter, Benita Heindel, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Clint Ertman of Minneapolis and Herbert Ertman of Fargo, N.D.; five sisters, Gertrude Ertman of Cavalier, N.D., Agnes Hoff of East Grand Forks, Minn.; Annette Lackowitzer of Fargo, Francis Meahl of Lady Lake, Fla., and Ruth England of Gardnerville; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Gregory Gordon
Gregory Gordon, 43, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 6, 1958, in California. A resident for several years, he was a bartender at the Riviera hotel.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory J. Gordon of Virginia and Jerold L. Gordon of Tennessee; three daughters, Presha D. Gordon of Los Angeles and Candica D. Gordon and Christina Ruth Gordon, both of Las Vegas; five sisters, Rosemary Sausberry, Valerie Ndukwu and Debra Beasley, all of Nevada, Gloria Gordon of New Orleans and Michelle Beasley of California; four brothers, Moris Gordon of New Orleans and Reynard Gordon, Lawrence Gordon and Ronald Gordon, all of California; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Greater St. James Baptist Church, 316 Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Larry Gale Hampton
Larry Gale Hampton, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Wood River. A resident for 25 years, he was an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet; three daughters, Jamie Jaeger, Tina Fulks and Lydia Christiansen, and two sons, David Hampton and Carl Hampton, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Bud Hampton of California; and six grandchildren.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.
Lorraine D. Hendee
Lorraine D. Hendee, 69, of Henderson died Friday in the Mayo Clinic Hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Burlington, Vt. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, June Ranck of Las Vegas, Leslie McClellan of Hickory, N.C., and Jennifer Armstrong of Champlain, N.Y.; one son, Henry Doge Hendee of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, June Talbert of South Burlington, Vt.; one brother, John Duff of Burlington; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2:30 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service Friday in the LDS Cozy Hills Relief Society Room. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Bruce Tyrell Hollis
Bruce Tyrell Hollis, 39, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1962, in Atlanta. A resident for 16 years, he was a laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; one daughter, Courtney Barquero, and one son, Christian A. Harris, both of Las Vegas; 10 brothers, Henry Hollis, Charles Hollis, Arthur Hollis, Johnny Hollis and Issaish Hollis, all of Connecticut, Kenny Hollis of Atlanta, Donald Hollis of Japan, James Hollis and Warren Hollis, both of Georgia, and Rush Hollis Jr. of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Mary Hollis-Bussy and Betty Hollis-Washington, both of Georgia.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Georgia.
Gloria Jean Jackson
Gloria Jean Jackson, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 13, 1931, in Iowa. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by five sons, David Jackson, Michael Jackson, Roger Jackson, Robert Jackson and Dot Jackson; and four daughters, Diane Jackson, Jackie Smith, Gloria McDonald and Susan Jackson.

Elizabeth A. Juranek
Elizabeth A. Juranek, 83, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 17, 1908, in Austria.
She is survived by her caregiver, Jackie Lewis of Henderson.
Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Norman Lefton
Norman Lefton, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Jamaica, N.Y. A longtime resident, he was a mechanical engineer and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Glickman; two daughters, Robin Viteri of Las Vegas and Marla Starekow of Colorado; one brother, Ira Lefton of New York; one sister, Leah Dorf of Florida; and one grandchild.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Los Angeles. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Carrie Massingale
Carrie Massingale, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 6, 1907, in Arkansas. A resident for 59 years, she was a homemaker and was a grand matron for the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons, Ray Grant of Dallas and Bennie Mack of Michigan City, Ind.; two sisters, Sallie Wyrick of Los Angeles and Ever J. Beal of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Shedley Frazier of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 3-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Thomas E. McCarroll
Thomas E. McCarroll, 82, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Terre Haute, Ind. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired carpenter, a World War II Army veteran and prisoner of war in Germany, a member of the Boulder City Elks Lodge, Carpenters Local 62 in Chicago and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 503 in Downers Grove, Ill.
He is survived by one daughter, Virginia Herman of Plainfield, Ill.; three sons, Daniel McCarroll of Downers Grove, Michael McCarroll of Joliet, Ill., and Timothy McCarroll of Boulder City; one sister, Stella Davis of Downers Grove; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Carl Gene McCuin
Carl Gene McCuin, 48, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1953, in Lake Charles, La. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a heavy duty truck driver.
He is survived by his companion, Betty Byrd; one daughter, Loree McCuin; two stepdaughters, Juliann Felder and Andrea Lawson, four stepsons, Donald Felder, Melvin Felder, Brian Laswell and Jeremy Laswell, his mother, Clara Mae Dorn, and his foster mother, Earnestine Williams, all of Phoenix; seven brothers, Lawrence Ray McCuin Jr. of Phoenix and Ernest Turner, Charles Easter, John Easter, Johnny Turner, Johnny Ray Marshall and Ralph Burr, all of Las Vegas.
A memorial service service will be in Phoenix. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Norma A. McKinnerney
Norma A. McKinnerney, 76, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 6, 1925, in Joliet, Ill. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired book binder.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Boggio of LaVerne, Calif., and Irene L. Bates of Boulder City; three sisters, Angeline Hanna of Boulder City, Rose Avis of Henderson and Helen Scoggins of Sallisaw, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Henderson, followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Peggy Joyce Mings
Peggy Joyce Mings, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Texas. A resident for 35 years, she was a waitress.
She is survived by two sons, Perry Bowlin and Stanley Hundley; and two brothers, Paul R. Rux and John R. Rux.

Colette Leonore Nizet
Colette Leonore Nizet, 41, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born July 9, 1960, in Utah. A resident for 39 years, she was an artist.
She is survived by her companion, Porfirio Diaz; her father, Charles Nizet; and her mother, Irene Berta.
Visitation is scheduled noon until 2 p.m. services Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Fred A. Poston
Fred A. Poston, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Michigan. A resident for 27 years, he was a used car salesman and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by six daughters, Kimberly Carbone of Henderson, Kyla Poston and Kara Poston, both of Las Vegas, Darleen Novinger of Massachusetts, Vickie King of Oregon and Sheila Novak of Mesquite; two sons, Walter Poston of Virginia and Carl Poston of Mississippi; one stepdaughter, Kristi McDaniel of Henderson; one stepson, Ronnie McDaniel of Nevada; three brothers, Norville Poston, Carl Poston and Kenneth Poston, all of Tennessee; three sisters, Sue Sexton of Texas and Ruth Bassfield and Fran Hurt, both of Mississippi; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11-12:30 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Leland C. Scering
Leland C. Scering, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 13, 1946, in Kankakee, Ill. A resident for 13 years, he was an operating engineer at the Flamingo Hilton, an Army veteran and a member of the National Street Rod Association since 1975.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Dana M. Scering of Illinois and Stephen A. Scering of Florida; one daughter, Andrea L. Scering of Florida; his mother and stepfather, Gladys and Frank Mikeworth, and one sister, Amelia K. Seng, all of Illinois; two brothers, Frank R. Mikeworth of Indiana and James L. Mikeworth of Washington state; and three grandchildren.

Agnes M. Smith, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 8, 1910, in Passaic, N.J. A resident for many years, she was a nurse at Sunrise Hospital.
She is survived by one sister, Sophie Kwatkowski of Pine Island, N.Y.
Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Alvin William Unfried
Alvin William Unfried, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 14, 1928, in California. A resident for eight years, he was an account manager, an Air Force veteran and a member of AAFES Retirement Association.
He is survived by his wife, Lan; three sons, James R. Unfried, John C. Unfried and Robert Unfried; one daughter, Theresa Raffel Unfried; one brother, Fredrick Unfried; and six grandchildren.
Services will be one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Evelyn Lee Williams, 71, of Pahrump died Tuesday in Pahrump. She was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Chillicothe, Mo. A resident for 28 years, she was a bartender.
She is survived by one daughter, Christine Dyer of Pahrump; one son, Kenneth Williams of Flagstaff, Ariz.; one brother, Ray Sykes of Urbana, Mo.; three grandsons and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.

Gary Zicker, 50, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 25, 1951, in Suffern, N.Y. A resident for 42 years, he was a police officer, a member of the Las Vegas Track Club, Police Protective Association and Sheriff's Protective Association.
He is survived by his wife, Heide R.; one daughter, Katie Hilterbran of North Las Vegas; two sons, Matthew Zicker of Las Vegas and Beau Zicker of Boulder City; his parents, Mary Lou and Furl Porter, two sisters, Gail Druen and Janet Sepede, and one brother, Jay Zicker, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Warm Springs Baptist Church, 2075 W. Warm Springs Road. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
