Where she is now: Texas-Pan American

Class: Freshman

Sport: Basketball

Currently: Hitchens, a 5-foot-10 guard, has made an impact in her first collegiate season, playing in 21 of 24 games for the 6-18 Broncs. The former Silverado star is third on her team with averages of 9.8 points and 4.7 rebounds and is shooting a team-best .455 from the field. UTPA plays at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday.

Looking back: A fixture for Sunrise power Silverado during her three-year varsity career, Hitchens helped the Skyhawks reach the 4A state tournament in each season. As a senior, she averaged 15.5 points and seven rebounds, earning a spot on the Sun's all-state first team and the coaches' Southeast Division MVP award.
