Patricia Acosta
Patricia Acosta, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1945, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired secretary for an insurance company.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard; one son, Keith Acosta of Las Vegas; two daughters, Anna Maria Czernia and Tricia Acosta, and two sisters, Barbara Kaske and Connie Campell, all of Chicago; and four grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Adolfo Agramonte Jr.
Adolfo Agramonte Jr., 27, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 29, 1974, in Los Angeles. A resident for five years, he was a supervisor at an ergonomic factory.
He is survived by his wife, Adriana; two daughters, Jasmine and Daisy, and his mother, Marianela, all of Las Vegas; his father, Adolfo Sr. of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; four brothers, Luis, Eric, Alex and Christopher; three sisters, Priscilla, Ruby and Jacqueline; and his grandparents, Agustin and Zoila Agramonte of California.
Visitation was scheduled 2-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Sheridan Mae Batty
Sheridan Mae Batty, 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 11 years, she worked for local casinos.
She is survived by one son, Trux Anglemyer of Seven Mile, Ohio; two daughters, Cassie Byerly of Tionesta, Pa., and Marcy Campbell of Fredericksburg, Va.; three brothers, Wayne Williams of Riverside, Calif., Gary Williams and Ron Williams, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Maxine Finn of Long Beach, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Neptune Society of Nevada, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Building 5, is handling private arrangements.
James L. Baxter
James L. Baxter, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Texarkana, Texas. A resident for 38 years, he was a field administrator for the Department of Energy, a retired Navy pilot and World War II, Vietnam War and Korean War veteran, a member of Army-Navy Legion of Nalor and Shell Back Club.
He is survived by his wife, Alice A.; two sons, James E. Baxter and Timothy A. Baxter, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Kathleen S. McIntyre of Middleberg, Fla.; one sister, Barbara Ellison of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Barry E. Bortman
Barry E. Bortman, 60, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 28, 1941, in Pottstown, Pa. A resident for 40 years, he was a truck driver and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; one daughter, Tamara Sosa, and two sons, Kevin Bortman and Christopher Bortman, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday at the LDS Lorenzi chapel. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Bonnie K. Bowie
Bonnie K. Bowie, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Lena, Miss. A resident for 47 years, she was a hotel cook and a member of the Culinary Union.
She is survived by her mother, Roxanne Luckett, and one brother, Hillard Ealy, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Lee Johnson of Gardena, Calif.
Steven Brudvig
Steven Brudvig, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A microbiologist, he was born March 11, 1953, in North Dakota.
He is survived by his wife, Janet of Roseville, Minn.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Minnesota. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Nellie Conway
Nellie Conway, 59, of Las Vegas died Thursday. A longtime resident, she was a PBX operator.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn and Jesse Whitehead, and one brother, Mack Henry Junior, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Myrtel Meads and Jesse Curtis, both of Las Vegas, and Mary Bates and Ernestine Lawrence, both of Michigan; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lydell Crenshaw
Lydell Crenshaw, 36, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A forklift operator, he was born June 20, 1965, in Illinois.

Heather Michelle Dakai
Heather Michelle Dakai, 9, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 31, 1992, in Framingham, Mass. A resident for five years, she was a student at Ronzone Elementary School.
She is survived by her parents, Christine E. and Steven C. Dakai Jr., one brother, Steven Dakai Jr., one sister, Melissa Dakai, her grandparents, Jerry and Linda Penn and Marjorie Borghesi, and his great-grandmother, Marjorie Borgheal, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be private.

Julia L. Daniels, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 3, 1919, in Chandler, Okla. A resident for 37 years, she was a pastor of First Church of God for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one son, Anthony Daniels of Las Vegas; one daughter, Naomi Chapman of Oklahoma; three brothers, Frank Lacy of Fresno, Calif., Alfred Lacy of San Diego and Monroe Lacy of Las Vegas; two sisters, Hattie Bryant of Chandler and Mattie Daily of Berkeley, Calif.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-11 a.m. Wednesday in First Church of God. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Connie L. Folmer, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A human resources director, she was born July 25, 1945, in Washington state.
She is survived by two sons, Perren Reed of Burien, Wash., and William Reed of Kent, Wash.; one daughter, Nedra Blaine of Portland, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 5 p.m. service Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Vancouver, Wash.
Hazel I. Hostetter
Hazel I. Hostetter, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Emporia, Kan. A resident for 49 years, she was a retired office worker from EG&G at the Nevada Test Site and a Valley Hospital volunteer.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Robertson of Henderson; one sister, Margaret Schlenker of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park.

Smyionn A. Gonzales, 8, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 10, 1993, in Colorado Springs, Colo. A resident for one year, he was an elementary school student.
He is survived by his parents; six brothers; and two sisters.

Elizabeth A. Juranek, 93, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 17, 1908, in Czechoslovakia.
She is survived by her caregiver, Lackie Lewis of Henderson.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Mallen Kirk Knighten
Mallen Kirk Knighten, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Las Vegas. A resident for 42 years, he was a photographer in the aviation field and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Howard Knighten of Boulder City; and one sister, Nancy Leigh Knighten of Fish Lake Valley.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Fish Lake Valley Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Kerstan Joseph Kodya, 42, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1959, in Hazelton, Pa. A resident for 15 years, he was a telephone technician for Sprint.
He is survived by his wife, Sallyann; and three sons, Michael Kodya, Frank Kodya and Joseph Kodya, all of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., followed by a private burial.
William L. Lamb
William L. Lamb, 58, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 22, 1943, in Henderson. A resident for 58 years, he was an international finance manager and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Kelly-Lamb; two sons, William Lamb and John McLain, both of Las Vegas; four daughters, Trudy Gribaldo of Willits, Calif., Laurel Barnard of Hoquiam, Wash., Christina Link of Carlin and Balinda Hetzel of Pace, Fla.; his mother, Leila Moorehead, and one brother, Danny Lamb, both of Fernley; one sister, Marilyn Lanman of Carlisle, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.

Angeline M. Leveritt, 90, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 22, 1911, in Sloan, Iowa. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired county social worker and a member of the Child Services Guild.
She is survived by one son, John A. Leveritt Jr. of Henderson; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ray Marquis, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Los Angeles. A resident for 45 years, he was a journeyman in the construction industry and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Gudula; one daughter, Janet Kelley of Las Vegas; two sons, Cecil Reeves of Troy, Ala., and Raymond Reeves of Las Vegas; one sister; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Nicole May, 17, of Logandale died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1984, in Payson, Utah. A resident for six years, she was junior class president at Moapa Valley High School, a member of the Honor Society, dance team and varsity band, wrestling team manager and a candidate for valedictorian.
She is survived by her parents, Duane and Trish May, two brothers, Spencer Duane and Austin Neeley, and one sister, Amanda, all of Logandale; her grandparents, Kenneth A. and Della May of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Parley M. and Rowena Neeley of Orem, Utah; and her great-grandmother, Elva Killian of Salt Lake City.

Marie Eleanor Meehan, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday. A Clark County schoolteacher for more than 35 years, she was born March 12, 1930, in New Munich, Minn.
She is survived by two brothers, Wally Rieland of St. Cloud, Minn., and Celestine Rieland of New Munich; six sisters, Dorene Terres of Melrose, Minn., Lorraine Zierden of Shawand, Wis., Lue Veronica Trull of Littleton, Colo., Claude Rieland of Lacey, Wash., Geri Dahle of Denver and Erma Schoen of Clinton Villa, Wis.
Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Viator Catholic Church, followed by private services. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

June B. Orndorff, 83, of Las Vegas died Jan. 21 in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Utah. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Steve B. Orndorff; and one brother, Don Baxter.

Mildred Charlene Rodman
Mildred Charlene Rodman, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Henderson. A social worker, she was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Ashdown, Ark.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Rodman of Washington state and Tom Rodman and William Rodman, both of California; two daughters, Louise Orci and Carolyn Smith, both of Henderson; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Maria Z. Salazar, 80, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 30, 1922, in Mexico. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Florentine A.; two sons, Raul J. Mireles of North Las Vegas and Robert Mireles of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

John E. Shern, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 18, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A resident for eight years, he was a real estate broker/developer, a World War II veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Trude; three daughters, Susan Shern Wilder of Scottsdale, Ariz., Sally Shern Schaefer and Barbara Shern Burch, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sons, John W. Shern and Michael Shern, both of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Frank B. Whitmer Sr.
Frank B. Whitmer Sr., 59, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired machinist, Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra L.; one daughter, Gina Ouimette of Elgin, Ill.; two sons, Anthony Whitmer of Hampshire, Ill., and Frank B. Whitmer Jr. of Chandler, Ariz.; two sisters, Carol Mitchell of Kouts, Ind., and Maryann Klod of Carol Stream, Ill.; three brothers, Gene Whitmer of Pahrump, Michael Whitmer of Las Vegas and Peter Whitmer of Chicago; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
