Schools in line for state funds

CARSON CITY -- The Clark County School District, which may have a budget shortfall of $12 million to $15 million next fiscal year, could get a boost in funding Tuesday.

The Legislative Interim Finance Committee meets to dole out $22.7 million to Nevada school districts to cover higher costs in health insurance and utilities and to preserve some programs that face cuts.

The Clark County School District is in line to receive $16.4 million.
