Woman shot to death at Moulin Rouge
Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 | 10:07 a.m.
The body of a woman believed to have been shot to death was found early Christmas Day in a studio apartment in the former Moulin Rouge hotel, police said.
The woman was found about 4:20 a.m. inside her apartment in the 900 block of West Bonanza Road, Metro Police said. Her identity was pending this morning, the Clark County Coroner's Office said. She is believed to be in her late 30s.
Detectives want to question Corey Thompson, 33. Metro Homicide Lt. Tom Monahan said his name came up when detectives interviewed neighbors, but he is not considered a suspect.
Thompson and the victim are acquaintances but weren't romantically involved, Monahan said.
The homicide appears to be drug-related, he said.
Portions of the historic hotel property are currently leased as short- and long-term rentals, police said.
Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 385-5555 or Metro at 229-3521.
