Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 | 9:59 a.m.

America West Airlines, a big flier of gamblers to Las Vegas, today initiated service between its Las Vegas hub and Washington Dulles International Airport and Toronto.

The airline also added one daily roundtrip nonstop flight between Las Vegas and Miami International Airport and Dallas/Ft. Worth, which now have two and three roundtrip flights, respectively.

America West said it offers 85 daily departures to 38 nonstop destinations from its Las Vegas hub.

"Our Las Vegas hub gives America West the unique opportunity to bring customers to or through a very popular destination, which allows customers to mix business with pleasure on the same trip," said Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing.
