Registration is open for a free golf class for kids through the Danny Gans Jr. Golf Academy. The next session begins Jan. 16, and classes last for six weeks. Five levels are available, depending on the child's golf skill. The classes are free for kids with or without golf clubs and incorporate golf and life skills to maximize the benefits to students.
More than 1,000 kids have learned to play golf for free through the Danny Gans Jr. Golf Academy, which is run at the Callaway Golf Center and Desert Pine Golf Club. Local entertainer Danny Gans has funded the clinics to the tune of $91,000 through the First Tee of Southern Nevada nonprofit group.
