Letter: Good neighbors abound in Vegas
Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 | 8:34 a.m.
So much of the news nowadays is bad or sad, so I wanted to share some good news! This town is full of good, honest people after all.
Last week I went Christmas shopping. I visited several stores, and the trunk of my car held several shopping bags full of gifts for my family. My last stop was at Wal-Mart on East Tropicana. I was in a hurry and as I left my car I clicked the remote to lock the doors.
As I returned to my car several minutes later, to my horror I could see from a distance the trunk lid was open. I had inadvertently hit the wrong button on the remote and I knew all my gifts would be gone.
To my amazement and delight I found that not one thing had been taken. I immediately thanked my Father in Heaven and then thanked Him for good neighbors and fellow beings. Merry Christmas!
