Samuel Arnold Belcher Jr.

Samuel Arnold Belcher Jr., 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 44 years, he was a PBX repairman for Sprint and a ham radio operator.

He is survived by two daughters, Patti Ann Belcher and Babee Belcher, and one son, Charley Belcher, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Chuck Belcher of Placerville, Calif., and Dave Belcher of Las Vegas; seven sisters, Marilyn Bechtel of Columbus, Ohio, Mildred Benham of Los Alamos, N.M., Margaret Wilgar and Shirley Strow, both of Las Vegas, Carol Ruch of Waterville, Ohio, Diana Ball of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Penny Kovac of Toledo.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.

Maurice Edward Benshoff

Maurice Edward Benshoff, 80, of Henderson died Nov. 29 in Henderson. A railroad lineman, he was born Sept 22, 1922, in Johnstown, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; one daughter, Katherine Ann Lollar; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Glen Hobart Cook

Glen Hobart Cook, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Bargersville, Ind. A resident for 20 years, he was a contractor and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by two sisters, Sarah M. Hanahan of Naples, Fla., and Jane G. Fieler of Boca Raton, Fla.

Frank DiCillo

Frank DiCillo, 87, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Chicago. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; one daughter, Marylou Deddo of Oak Forrest, Ill.; three sons, John DiCillo, James DiCillo and Donald DiCillo, and one sister, Lucille Giabastiani, all of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Jay Steven Goodman

Jay Steven Goodman, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 29, 1946, in New York City. A resident for six years, he was a computer technology salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Sophia; one daughter, Sheri Biesiada of Blackwood, N.J.; one son, Lyle Goodman of Philadelphia; his mother, Miriam Goodman of Queens, N.Y.; two brothers, Gerald Goodman of Holbrook, N.Y., and Andrew Goodman of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.

William Hanley, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born April 16, 1921, in Missouri. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired porter.

He is survived by one daughter, Jenny Smith; and three grandchildren.

Bill Hurlburt

Bill Hurlburt, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Whitefish, Mont.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; five sons, Duane of Iowa, Steve and Bill, both of Montana, Bart of California and Bob of Las Vegas; one daughter, Vickie of Las Vegas; one sister, Betty of Washington; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Marina Rivera Jimenez

Marina Rivera Jimenez, 73, of Las Vegas died Dec. 9 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 21, 1929, in New York. A resident for 15 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Jose; three daughters, Flora Lee Cruz, Angelina Costa and Marina Bambino; one sister, Carmen Wahl; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Valera Grace Kane

Valera Grace Kane, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Montana. A resident for eight years, she was a retired administrative assistant.

She is survived by two daughters, Kelley Kane of Sumner, Wash., and Sherry Williams of Renton, Wash.; her companion, Charles Potvin of Las Vegas; and one brother, Francis Carlson of Williston, N.D.

Services will be in Seattle. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Ethel M. Kessler

Ethel M. Kessler, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 12, 1928, in New York. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired clerk.

She is survived by husband, Rudy J.; one son, Brian Kessler of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; one daughter, Debbie Holleran of Las Vegas; one sister, Evelyn Reid, and one brother, Ronald Smith, both of Hastings, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Somkit Magnuson

Somkit Magnuson, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 14, 1949, in Ubon, Thailand. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; one daughter, Penkhea Johnson, and one son, Nicholas Magnuson, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Somchit Chuadthong of Ubon; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4:30 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

John F. Mewshaw Jr.

John F. Mewshaw Jr., 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1915, in Baltimore. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired supervisor of processing for the U.S. Postal Service, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Sun City 9ers Golf Club and the New Mexico Men's Senior Golf Association.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche R.; three sons, John Patrick Mewshaw of Chandler, Ariz., Michael Francis Mewshaw of London and Dennis Ward Mewshaw of Henderson; one daughter, Robyn Frances Mewshaw of New York City; two sisters, Julia Clark of Silver Spring, Md., and Ann Martin Dimmick of Gaithersburg, Md.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Elizabeth 'Betty O' O'Neill

Elizabeth "Betty O" O'Neill, 89, of Henderson died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Pawtucket, R.I. A resident for three years, she was a retired telephone operator for an answering service.

She is survived by one son, Edward O'Neill of Henderson; one daughter, Linda Garceau of Las Vegas; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Connie Parrish

Connie Parrish, 45, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 17, 1957, in Nevada. A lifelong resident, she was a security officer.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; two sons, Andrew Parrish and Stephen Parrish, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Marjorie and William Robbins; two sisters, Sharon Marshall of Las Vegas and Erin Robbins of North Fork, Calif.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Gene Ray

Gene Ray, 74, of Indian Springs died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Kingman, Ariz. A Southern Nevada resident for more than 40 years, he was a retired electrician and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Annabelle; two daughters, Jean Schidt of Westminster, Calif., and Jimmie Ray of Kingman, Ariz.; one son, James A. Ray of Missoula, Mont.; one brother, Robert Ray of Kanarraville, Utah; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Sarah Lowe Stewart

Sarah Lowe Stewart, 44, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born April 3, 1958, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by one son, D'Jon Lowe and Levi Tyler; two daughters, Latanya Lowe and Ashley Lowe; three sisters, Gloria Foreman, Vickie Lowe and Felicia Lowe; three brothers, Michel Hardwick, Gerald Hardwick and Benard Lowe; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries.

Jerry M. Tisue

Jerry M. Tisue, 73, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 24, 1929, in Compton, Calif. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired foreman for a titanium producer and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi R.; five daughters, Julie Barlow, Jeri Tisue-Hernandez and Kristie Gerard, all of Henderson, Beth Tisue-Runkle of Las Vegas and Sharon Tisue; one sister, Diane Underhill of Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, Frank Tisue of Long Beach, Calif., and Richard Tisue of Tonopah; and seven grandchildren.

Carmen Villanueva

Carmen Villanueva, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born March 4, 1912, in the Philippines. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Melinda Santos, Margarita Bancod and Melita Fernandez, all of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 5701 N. Jones Blvd.
