Las Vegas Area Fishing Report

NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE
Fishing activity at Lake Mead has been light in recent days because of storms that have been hitting the recreation area.
Rainbow trout fishing has been good following the Nevada Division of Wildlife's weekly plants. Striped bass are being caught as well after the plants, including a 23-pound fish that was reeled in last week by a boater at Horsepower Cove.
This week's trout plants will take place today at Horsepower Cove, Hemenway Point, B-3 Cove and B-5 Cove.
About the only consistent fishing for stripers has been taking place along the shoreline at Las Vegas Bay. Some stripers have been caught in recent days at the fishing dock at Horsepower Cove. Fishing has been slow for stripers in the Overton Arm.
Striped bass fishing has been fair around Cottonwood Cove for boaters who are drifting with squid and anchovies. The fish are being found in deep water because of the water temperature.
