UNR's Crowley to retire soon

Joe Crowley, who served as president of the University of Nevada, Reno, for 23 years and then left to return to teaching, will retire at the end of the year.

Crowley, 69, will be granted the status of president emeritus and professor emeritus of political science.

Church will host live Nativity

The fourth annual Live Drive-Thru Nativity will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Highland Hills Baptist Church, 615 College Drive, Henderson.

The drive-through features six scenes portraying the birth and early childhood of Jesus Christ. Over 100 people of all ages will act out the scenes, while the visitors listen from the comfort of their car to a narration via their car radio.

Scenes includes live animals and period costumes against hand-painted backdrops. For more information, call 460-3584 and 566-0200.

NLV warrant program continues

North Las Vegas Municipal Court is continuing its warrant moratorium through Dec. 31. The cases affected by the moratorium are all misdemeanor bench warrants and failure-to-appear warrants.

All warranted subjects are eligible, with a few exceptions.

To receive a moratorium, warranted subjects must appear in person (with photo identification) at the North Las Vegas Warrant Division, 2240 Civic Center Drive, to request participation in the moratorium.
