Ronald Joseph Bananto
Ronald Joseph Bananto, 67, of Suwanee, Ga., died Friday in an Atlanta hospice. He was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 51 years, he was a former Metro Police officer of 23 years, an Army veteran and a member of the Las Vegas Police Protection Association.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Schofield Bananto of Atlanta; two daughters, Tamara Morley of Elko and Jaime Braza of Atlanta; two sons, Dr. Joseph Bananto of Atlanta and Jack Bananto of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Donald Bananto and James Bananto, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Marcella Cuda of San Diego; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Desert Inn Relief Society Room. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Schofield Cemetery, Hiko.
Coleen Fay Banks
Coleen Fay Banks, 61, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born April 5, 1941, in Williamson, Iowa.
She is survived by her parents, Charles and Mary Blazek of Williamson; and one daughter, Rhonda McCain of LaVista, Neb.

Edwin H. Bowes
Edwin H. Bowes, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 30, 1926, in St. John, New Brunswick. A resident for 13 years, he was a construction company owner.
He is survived by his wife, Norma M.; two daughters, Debbie Douglas and Kelly Davis, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. George's Episcopal Church, 7676 W. Gilmore Ave. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North is handling arrangements.

Shelby Lee Bradberry
Shelby Lee Bradberry, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Laughlin. A furniture upholsterer, he was born Feb. 25, 1942, in Etowah, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Helen.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Missouri. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Cynthia Campoli
Cynthia Campoli, 49, of Las Vegas died Dec. 13 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 23, 1953, in Wisconsin. A resident for 38 years, she was a construction office manager.
She is survived by two brothers, Thomas Campoli and Mark Campoli.
Memorial services were scheduled at noon today at Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Gaetano Guiseppe Antonio Cicone
Gaetano Guiseppe Antonio Cicone, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born July 11, 1931, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy. A resident for 23 years, he was a taxi driver and an Italian Army Alpine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette; one son, Domenic; and one daughter, Cassandra; and one grandson, Joseph Anthony.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Sunrise Cremation and Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, Henderson handled arrangements.
Lillian Cox
Lillian Cox, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 21, 1919, in New York. A resident for 10 years, she was a master teacher, a classical concert pianist, a Julliard fellow and a member of the Music Teachers National Association.
She is survived by one son, Robert L. Cox Jr. of Pacheco, Calif.; one daughter, Laura Taylor Mukkey of Las Vegas; one brother, Harry Bauer of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 4 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. handled arrangements.

'Uncle' Billy Dederich
"Uncle" Billy Dederich, 48, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 16, 1954, in Minnesota. A resident for 20 years, he was a tree trimmer.
He is survived by his father, William V. Dederich Sr. of Raine, Wis.; and four sisters, Arlene Hanson, Karen Follansbee, Debbie Benson and Kathy McEwan, all of Henderson.

Jay Stephen Goodman
Jay Stephen Goodman, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 29, 1946, in New York City. A resident for six years, he was a salesman in the computer technology industry.
He is survived by his wife, Sophia; one daughter, Sheri Biesiada of Blackwood, N.J.; one son, Lyle Goodman of Philadelphia; his mother, Miriam Goodman of Queens, N.Y.; two brothers, Gerald Goodman of Holbrook, N.Y., and Andrew Goodman of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
Burial will be in Philadelphia. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Aubrey G. Hamilton
Aubrey G. Hamilton, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Kingston, Jamaica. A resident for six years, he was a retired accountant.
He is survived by his wife, Constance; four daughters, Toni Simeone of Yonkers, N.Y., Trisha Hamilton of Virginia, Michelle Hamilton and Nisha Hamilton, both of Kingston; one stepdaughter, Rosalyn Smith of Los Angeles; one brother, Ronald Hamilton of Kingston; and three sisters, Norma Fay Hamilton of Washington, D.C., Beverly Hamilton of Kingston and Sonia Mudahy of Miami; and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Edith King Hedges, 85, of Nevada died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Paris, Ky. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Hedges and Kent Hedges, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Paul King of Paris, Ky.; and two sisters, Lucille Walton of Georgetown, Ky., and Pauline Riddle of Stamping Ground, Ky.

Mary Alice Lee aka Johnson
Mary Alice Lee aka Johnson, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. An accounting clerk at Citibank, she was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Rosedale, Miss.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Johnson; one son, Kevin Lejon Lee of Las Vegas; five sisters, Johnnie Mae Jones of Rosedale, Miss., and Delois Jamerson, Beverly Stewart, Betty Smith and Ceola Richard, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Robert Austin, Leon Austin and Leo Austin, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Robert L. Loewenstein, 76, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. He was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Kearney, Neb., and was in RV Sales.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; three sons, Richard Loewenstein of Colorado, Robert Loewenstein of Nebraska and Ronald Loewenstein of Texas; one daughter, Cindy Taylor of California; two stepsons, Todd Johnson and Jim Johnson, both of Seattle; one stepdaughter, Amber Bartholomew of Nevada; and one brother, Dale Loewenstein of California; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
Dolores C. Nurse
Dolores C. Nurse, 60, of Las Vegas died Dec. 2 in Las Vegas. She was born May 6, 1942, in Panama City, Panama. A resident for six months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by five children, Norma Headley, Carmelita Gomez, Delores DeWitt, Noris Headley and Nereyda Headley; one brother, Arturo Nurse; and one sister, Delva Charles; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. is handling arrangements.

Henry Pearce
Christine Pearce, 49, and her husband Henry Pearce, 51, of Las Vegas died Dec. 3 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 16, 1952, and he was born Feb. 8, 1951, both in Pennsylvania. Residents for 15 years, she was a medical claims processor and he was a railroad driver and a member of the Union Pacific Association of California.
They are survived by family and friends.

Andrew Charles Plummer
Andrew Charles Plummer, 39, of Phoenix died Friday in Phoenix. He was born Jan. 4, 1963, in Yakima, Wash. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a computer instructor at Collins College, a lifetime member of Boy Scouts of America and a troop leader, a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, and an Eagle Scout who earned Silver Beaver and Wood Badge awards for neighborhood and district.
He is survived by his parents, David C. and Lenora Marie Plummer of Anacortes, Wash.; one sister, Jill Adair Christensen of Las Vegas; and one brother, Thomas D. Plummer of Marysville, Wash.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday at 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Bennie Sue Saunders
Bennie Sue Saunders, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 7, 1925, in Mexia, Texas. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.
She is survived by five brothers, Billy Allen and Leonard Allen, both of Dallas, Warren Allen of Waxabachie, Texas, Willie Allen and Van Allen, both of Los Angeles; and three sisters, Dorothy Minor and Peggy J. Black, both of Las Vegas, and Stella Taylor of Dallas.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2450 Revere St. North Las Vegas. Burial will be in California

Delores Darline Scharas, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Bismarck, N.D. A resident for 34 years, she was a registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jack Sr. and one son, Jack Scharas Jr., both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
James Fredrick Schnabel
James Fredrick Schnabel, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Clarkston, Wash. A resident for one year, he was a retired Army officer and military historian at the Pentagon, a World War II and Korean War Army veteran and a square dance caller.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine G.; two daughters, Penny Hague of Las Vegas and Candace Hague of Henderson; one brother, Philip Schabel Jr. of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Frances Rader of Clarkston, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:20 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; one daughter, Ciairra Turner of Henderson; his father, Jim Turner Sr. of Las Vegas; his mother, Cecelia Turner, one brother, Christian Turner, both of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and his grandparents, William and Janie Blackwelder of Highpoint, N.C.

Michael O. Washington, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 11, 1948, in California. A resident for 30 years, he was self-employed in management and promotions and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by four sons, Nate Washington, Logon Washington, Albert Washington and Jordan Washington, and four daughters, Cisi Washington, Aurora Washington, Ariel Washington and Casandra Washington, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Meldon H. Woods II
Meldon H. Woods II, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan 14, 1940. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired pit boss at the El Cortez.
He is survived by two sons, Myron D. Carter of Indianapolis and Austin E. Carter of Detroit; five brothers, Dr. Dennis Woods Sr., Philip Woods Sr., Roland Woods, Kenneth Woods and Andre Woods, and one sister, Flavia Bell Moore, all of Detroit; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday followed by services at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
