Guinn swimming in new tea party

Gov. Kenny Guinn has a lot of tea to drink during this holiday season.

His office received 137 bags of tea in letters from individuals protesting any increase in taxes. It was to mark the celebration of the 229th anniversary Monday of the Boston Tea Party.

Patricia Saye of Las Vegas hatched the idea urging residents to send in the tea bag with a note reading, "I am mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. I am taxed by taxes."

Saye said she was pleased with the results and that she may make it an annual event.

"I didn't know if we would get two or 2,000," she said. "At least they will have some tea to drink. We had a lot of fun with this."
