Crime spree defendant appears in court

Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 | 9:45 a.m.

One of two men charged in connection with a shooting spree and a home invasion robbery made his first appearance Thursday in Justice Court.

Joseph Antonetti, 27, appeared before Justice of the Peace Karen Bennett-Haron.

Antonetti is charged with multiple felony counts, including one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary with a deadly weapon.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 26. Bail has not been set.

Police say Antonetti shot his female roommate Nov. 5 during an argument and left her for dead. The woman survived and identified Antonetti as the shooter.

Antonetti is also accused of shooting a man and a woman in the face during an unrelated incident. The woman died the next day and the man survived.

Police say Michael Bartoli, 25, who was also arrested, was with Antonetti during one of the shootings and committed a home invasion robbery with an unidentified man.
