LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan Lottery is replacing "Michigan Millions" with "Winfall," a new game meant to boost declining sales for the twice-weekly drawing.
If no player picks all six numbers for a Winfall jackpot that reaches $5 million, the money will be dispersed through lower winners who match five, four or three numbers.
Winfall also will guarantee payoffs of $2,500 for matching five of six numbers, $100 for matching four numbers and $5 for matching three numbers.
Winfall players only will choose from 49 numbers instead of the 51 numbers in Michigan Millions, reducing odds from 1-in-18 million to 1-in-14 million, Kipp said. Fifty-five percent of Winfall sales will go toward winnings, compared to 50 percent for Michigan Millions.
