Jack A. Ambrose

Jack A. Ambrose, 64, of Ely died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born March 12, 1938. A lifelong resident of Ely, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnne; one son, Jack "Guy" Ambrose of Las Vegas; his mother, Pauline Quiso of Ely; two brothers, Jerry of Eureka, Mont., and Jay of Reno; one sister, Judy Mangum of St. George, Utah; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Mountain Vista Chapel, Ely. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

James Bailey

James Bailey, 81, of Las Vegas died Nov. 12 in a local care center. He was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Maryland. A resident for 45 years, he was a musician and an Army veteran.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Thursday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St. Graveside services will follow at noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Robert Horace Barrett

Robert Horace Barrett, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Provo, Utah. He was born May 11, 1919, in McGill. A lifelong resident of Nevada, he was a mail carrier, a World War II Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Trinity from September 1939 through November 1945 and rose to the rank of chief quartermaster.

He is survived by two daughters, Renee Sharon Harper and Bobbette Wayman, both of Utah; three sons, Ray Sheldon of Utah and Douglas Lee and Robert Kurt, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Evelyn Lewis of Idaho; one brother, Burton Barrett of Oregon; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to a 9 a.m. service Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Cheryle M. Buldra

Cheryle M. Buldra, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 3, 1948, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, she was a florist.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, David Robinson of Las Vegas and Troy Thomsen of Alaska; one daughter, Sheila Satterwhite of Wisconsin; her mother, Irene Tracy, and three brothers, Gary Tracy, Jim Tracy and Warren Tracy, all of Minnesota.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

James Corselli

James Corselli, 77, of Riverside, Calif., died Friday in Riverside. He was born June 23, 1925, in Corona, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident, he worked at the Nevada Test Site for REECo and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Teamsters Local 631, Shriners, Masons, Elks and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; three daughters, Debi Jost of Edmond, Okla., Joanne Richards of Dublin, Ohio, and Pam Ritzler of Riverside; and one grandson.

No local services are scheduled. Acheson & Graham Mortuary Chapel, Riverside, Calif., is handling arrangements.

Bonita Dugan

Bonita Dugan, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 30, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 34 years, she was a retired hotel room reservation supervisor and a member of Teamsters Local 995.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicki-Lynn Garcia of Las Vegas; one son, Gary Waxler of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one stepson, Thomas Dugan of Las Vegas; two brothers, Merlin Artz of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Roger Artz of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at noon Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Earl Bond Dunckel

Earl Bond Dunckel, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Syracuse, N.Y. A resident for six years, he was a retired public relations consultant for an electric company, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the National Press Club and the bridge club and Spanish club at Sun City.

He is survived by his wife, J. Renee Dunckel of Las Vegas; one son, Earl B. Dunckel III of Lowville, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Renee Lowder of Boise, Idaho, and Wendy Kathleen Potter of Eagle, Idaho; one sister, Doris Whitney of Hicksville, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the LDS Desert Shores Ward, 3300 N. Buffalo Drive at Cheyenne Avenue. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gerard Hubert Erkenswick

Gerard Hubert Erkenswick, 55, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 3, 1947, in Chicago. A resident for 29 years, he was a police officer for 11 years and a Vietnam War veteran of the Marine Reserves.

He is survived by his wife, Chicky; one daughter, Jami Beth Erkenswick, and one son, Gerard Erkenswick of Las Vegas; four sisters, Mary Erkenswick, Evonne Golden, Louise Martin and Joyce Ganus; three brothers, Michael Erkenswick, George Erkenswick and Joseph Erkenswick, all of Chicago; and one grandson.

Roger William Graves

Roger William Graves, 57, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born in Northampton, Mass. A resident for three years, he was a city animal regulator.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Victoria; three sons, Roger Graves of Hawaii, Bobby Graves of Simi Valley, Calif., and Kenneth Graves of North Las Vegas; two daughters, Kimberly Graves of Oxnard, Calif., and Christina Graves of Los Angeles; one brother, Kenneth Graves of West Covina, Calif.; one sister, Barbara Plymen of Mariposa, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Eugene Hatler

Eugene Hatler, 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 21, 1944, in Farmington, Mich. A resident for 24 years, he was a building maintenance engineer in the telecommunications industry, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn A.; one daughter, Tracey Hatler; and his mother, Mary Hatler of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and one grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Dieter Kuckelmann

Dieter Kuckelmann, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Lakeside, Ariz. He was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Germany. A resident for 35 years, he worked at McCarran Airport's parking garage, was a gaming employee for 20 years at the Fremont, Caesars Palace and Tropicana.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, James Kuckelmann and Bruce Talbot, both of Las Vegas; seven daughters, Sue Rettig and Deidra Zeller, both of San Diego, Cheryl Burgess, Patricia Williams and Mercy Wadas, all of Las Vegas, Jennifer Liston of Mesa, Ariz., and Kathy Poe of Lakeside; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Belinda Luke

Belinda Luke, 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 5, 1954, in Minneapolis. A resident for 18 years, she was a case worker at a mental health center.

She is survived by her husband, Danny; her mother, Irene Davis of Warrenton, Ore.; her father, Keith Hinkley of Reno; two daughters, Teri Buck and Machelle Allen, both of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Debbie Eckardt of Boulder City; two stepsons, Darren Luke and Jammey Luke, both of Henderson; one sister, Diane Gustafson of Maple Grove, Minn.; one brother, Steven Hinkley of Reno; and six grandchildren.

Virginia Miller, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Beloit, Wis. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Toastmasters.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith Robison of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Dolores Mae Mongan, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James M.; five sons, Michael Mongan of Modesto, Calif., James Mongan and Joseph Mongan, both of Las Vegas, Martin Mongan of Tucson and Norman Syoen of Chicago; three daughters Joan Rogers and Judith Reppart, both of Las Vegas, and Connie Ibarra of Chicago; one sister, Vivian Sazma of Chicago; one brother, Joseph Kapp of Belmont, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; four sons, Darrell Phinney, Dean Phinney, Doug Phinney and Richard Phinney, all of Nevada; two daughters, Cristine Lyons of Nevada and Cindy Proctor of North Carolina; two brothers, Brent Phinney and Michael Phinney, and three sisters, Evelyn Boldt, Carolyn Jacobson and Roselyn Struse, all of South Dakota; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ray Miles Thompson, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Jay, Okla. A resident for 40 years, he was a fork lift operator for Bally Manufacturing, a Navy veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by two sons, Randy L. Griebel of Las Vegas and Dale A. Dana of Ventura, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.

Marcella L. Valandingham

Marcella L. Valandingham, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 2, 1948, in Hammond, Ind. A resident for 21 years, she was disabled.

She is survived by three sisters, Barbara Wontorski of Lakedale, Ind., Rosemary Winkler of Kingman, Ind., and Audrey Zibulski of Detroit; and five brothers, Robert Valandingham, Kenneth Valandingham and Donald Valandingham, all of Kingman, Daniel Valandingham of Demotte, Ind., and Rube Valandingham of Las Vegas.

She is survived by one son, Richard Walton, and one daughter, Kerry Walton, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Barbara Young of Oxnard, Calif.; one sister, Sandra Young of Los Angeles; two brothers, Michael Young of San Jose, Calif., and Douglas Young of Half Way, Mo.; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kitty Boozer on Feb. 1, 2002.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin Young, and one daughter, Dianna Leigh, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
