Union ratifies contract extension

DALLAS -- Southwest Airlines said Friday that its ramp workers and freight agents have ratified a two-year extension of their contract through June 2008.
The 6,000 employees are represented by the Transport Workers Union.
The extension provides stock options based on Southwest's stock price at ratification.
Further details of the extension were not disclosed. Southwest declined to comment.
In trading Friday, Southwest shares closed up 12 cents at $16.27 on the New York Stock Exchange.
