Speakers selected for casino conference

Frank Biondi Jr., a director of a private equity fund specializing in media, and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown Jr. will deliver keynote speeches Jan. 9 at the American Gaming Summit at The Rio hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

Biondi, senior managing director of WaterView Advisors LLC and a board member of Harrah's Entertainment Inc. in Las Vegas, served as chairman and chief executive of Universal Studios, Viacom Inc. and Coca-Cola Television.

Other speakers will include Tom Baker, chief executive of International Game Technology, American Gaming Association Chief Executive Frank Fahrenkopf, MGM MIRAGE Chairman Terry Lanni and National Indian Gaming Association chairman Ernest Stevens.

The event is sponsored by casino trade publisher GEM Communications, the law office of Lionel Sawyer & Collins and investment firm Deutsche Bank.
