Three men indicted on murder charges

Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 | 10:10 a.m.

Three men have been indicted on murder charges for killings that took place earlier this year in Las Vegas.

Jose Aguilar and Sergio Juarez were indicted in connection with the death of Jose Delatore. Aguilar and Juarez were arrested in February after a patrol officer discovered them moving Delatore's body from the trunk of a car into the desert near Hollywood Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive, police said.

Juarez and Jose Aguilar's aunt, Modesta Aguilar, also face charges of being accessories to murder, according to an indictment unsealed Wednesday before District Court Judge Donald Mosley. Jose Aguilar and Juarez killed Delatore in an apartment near Vegas Valley Drive and Lamb Boulevard and then burned his body, police allege.

Indicted in a separate case was Randy Woods. He is charged with murder and robbery with the use of a deadly weapon in the April 2001 death of 88-year-old Ray Thomas Schrieber.

Police say Woods shot Thomas in the head and stole his money and the keys to his 1979 Lincoln Continental. The suspect's mother, who is also a friend of the victim, found Schreiber dead in the laundry room of his condominium complex.
