Special section: NFR tickets tough, but not impossible
Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 | 9:27 a.m.
Although each of the 10 Wrangler NFR performances technically are sold out, there are two ways rodeo fans can attempt to get tickets for the 44th annual event.
The official NFR Ticket Exchange program provides an opportunity to match those looking to sell NFR tickets with those looking to purchase them. The Official NFR Ticket Exchange booth will be located at the main ticket office at the Thomas & Mack Center and will be open today through Saturday, Dec. 14.
Those looking to return tickets for re-sale should drop them off daily between 10 and 11 a.m. Those wishing to acquire tickets can do so from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Tickets that are returned will be bought back at face value, minus a $1 handling fee. All ticket sales will be on a cash-only basis.
Anyone interested in taking part in the ticket exchange program can call 702-739-3267 for more information.
"Find a Seat" tickets are offered on a no-show basis, with seats potentially available for all 10 NFR performances. These tickets can be purchased directly from the Thomas & Mack Center ticket office or by calling 702-739-3267.
"Find a Seat" tickets allow the bearer entrance into the concourse area at the T&M. The bearer must then locate an open seat in the balcony area only. The bearer may sit in that seat location unless the original ticket holder claims that seat. At that time, the bearer may locate another seat.
If a "Find a Seat" ticket bearer cannot locate an open seat within 30 minutes after the rodeo has begun, the performance can be viewed via satellite in the adjacent Cox Pavilion or the purchase price of the ticket will be refunded at the T&M ticket office.
The resale of NFR tickets is prohibited.
