Zoning decision is postponed

Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 | 11:17 a.m.

Clark County commissioners on Wednesday postponed consideration of developer Billy Walters' controversial request for a zoning change. Walters wants the zoning change so he can build a shopping center and office complex on land once designated for a park.

The commissioners, acting as the zoning board, said they postponed the item until Dec. 18.

The board approved an amendment to the Spring Valley master plan on Nov. 20, changing the designation of 70 acres at Durango Drive and Warm Springs Road from park land to commercial, but Walters still needs the formal change of the zoning before he can build his shopping center and office complex on the land.
