Two LV-Chicago flights added

Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 | 11:15 a.m.

McCarran International Airport's busiest commercial air carrier will add two nonstop round trips between Las Vegas and Chicago in February.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines, which already has three daily flights to and from Chicago's Midway Airport, will add two more Feb. 9, further filling gaps left with the folding of National Airlines last month.

Southwest, which McCarran says averages 166 flights a day to and from Las Vegas, competes on the Las Vegas-Midway route with American Trans Air.

Las Vegas is Southwest's second-busiest airport and Chicago Midway is its fifth largest.
